ORU falls to Atlantic-10 Conference favorite Saint Louis
ST. LOUIS — The No. 26 Oral Roberts University men’s soccer team fell 1-0 in the final minutes at Atlantic-10 Conference preseason favorite Saint Louis on Tuesday evening. Defense was key in the game as the Golden Eagles (4-2-1) and Billikens (2-3-1) held each other scoreless through 87 minutes of play.

Defense was key in the game as the Golden Eagles (4-2-1) and Billikens (2-3-1) held each other scoreless through 87 minutes of play.
In the first half both teams managed five shots on goal combined with ORU leading with three. Jakub Grzesiak made two saves in the first hal, and Reed Berry had two shots on goal.
In the second half, ORU upped its offensive attack and had five shots on goal. The Golden Eagle defense did not allow a Billiken to have a shot on goal until the 87th minute when SLU’s C.J. Coppola managed to score the game winning goal. Unfortunately, time was not on ORU’s side late in the match and despite out-playing Saint Louis.
ORU will open Summit League action Saturday afternoon with a trip to Macomb, Ill., to face Western Illinois at 1 p.m.
