Lady Rangers see season end with regional losses to Idabel, Kiefer
IDABEL — The 2023 fast-pitch softball season came to an end Thursday for the Roland Lady Rangers as they lost both of their Class 3A Regional Tournament games in Idabel, losing 16-6 to the host Lady Warriors and falling 14-0 to Kiefer.
IDABEL — The 2023 fast-pitch softball season came to an end Thursday for the Roland Lady Rangers as they lost both of their Class 3A Regional Tournament games in Idabel, losing 16-6 to the host Lady Warriors and falling 14-0 to Kiefer.
The Lady Rangers end the season at 9-20.
In the regional-tournament loss to Idabel, the Lady Warriors trailed 3-1 after an inning, but scored twice in the third inning to tie the game at 3-all, then scored seven runs in the fifth inning for a 10-3 lead.
In defeat, Kynlei Earnhart was 3-for-4 with a run scored, while KyLeigh Knapp was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs batted in and a run scored for Roland. Emily Daws took the loss, despite striking out five batters in seven innings.
In the loss to Kiefer, the Lady Trojans put away the game early with a four-run first inning, a two-run second inning and a seven-run third inning for a 13-0 lead after three innings.
In defeat, Earnhart and Sara Qualls each singled for Roland’s only hits.
Knapp took the loss, going the first two innings. Daws went the final three innings.
