Think on these things

Now is the time for temperatures to start cooling and trees to change to gorgeous colors. Children begin boarding yellow school buses and coming home with papers they have drawn on for Mom. Evening was my favorite time as a child, barefood and free to follow the path to the barn to sit on the wooden gate and watch the cows come to the barn. If I wanted, I could go meet them and ride the bull back, but he knew a good thorn tree patch that made me scramble off when he walked through it. It is pretty bad when the bull is smarter than the kid.

Very often a table was set outside and E li si would have baked fresh bread and we ate big red tomatoes and fried chicken – which I still love. The end of summer brings big changes and every day shows us what they are. There has been a long stretch since school figured richly in my life but I still know the feeling the autumn brings back clearly.

Time passing so quickly makes us a little uneasy but it shouldn’t. If we believe there is something better ahead, and there is, then we can relax and enjoy the present time.
