Lady Diamonds see season end at Class 4A Regional Tournament
WAGONER — The 2023 fastpitch softball season came to an end Thursday for the Sallisaw Lady Diamonds with an 11-1 loss to the Stilwell Lady Indians in the loser’s-bracket final of the Class 4A Regional Tournament.
WAGONER — The 2023 fastpitch softball season came to an end Thursday for the Sallisaw Lady Diamonds with an 11-1 loss to the Stilwell Lady Indians in the loser’s-bracket final of the Class 4A Regional Tournament.
The Lady Diamonds end the season at 2-18.
In Thursday’s loss to Stilwell, the Lady Indians (23-9), who lost the regional final to the host Wagoner Lady Bulldogs by a score of 8-1, scored twice in the first inning, five runs in the second inning and twice in the third inning for a 9-0 lead. The lone run for the Lady Diamonds scored in the fourth inning on Delaney Compton’s RBI single scoring Channing Wilson, who led off the inning with a double. Stilwell put the game into runrule status with two runs in the fifth inning. In defeat, Makenna Bormann was 2-for-3, Compton was 2-for-2 with an RBI single, Wilson doubled and scored Sallisaw’s lone run and Sydney Weedon and Madison Green each singled for Sallisaw. Preslee Jackson took the loss.
