Lady Vikings 19th, Vikings 30th in Chile Pepper Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Carl Albert State College cross country teams competed at the 2203 Chile Pepper Invitational on Friday at the University of Arkansas.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Carl Albert State College cross country teams competed at the 2203 Chile Pepper Invitational on Friday at the University of Arkansas.

The Lady Vikings were 19th with 496 points in the Women’s 5k Open Division.

CASC freshman Jacie Moffatt had the fastest time for the Lady Vikings with a time of 22:03.9 to finish 63rd. Lin Lee was 115th (24:20.8), Destiny Lawson was 139th (25:44.7), Valeria Velasco was 150th (27:11.4) and Mackenzie Lingenfelter was 155th (28:08).

The Vikings were 30th in the Men’s 8K Open Division team standings with 884 points.

The fastest CASC male runner was freshman Brayden Stoval, who finished the course in 33:04.1 to place 197th. Dylan Torres was 207th (33:32.3), Caleb Berger was 244th (36:50.9), Brady Allen was 249th (37:47.4), Brady Billingsley was 254th (38:23.4) and Jonathan Figueroa was 257th (39:38.9).

The CASC cross country teams will be off until the Division II Regional Meet, which will be Oct. 28 in Mena, Ark., at the University of Arkansas-Rich Mountain — which was the site of their seasonopening meet, the Bucks Season Opener which took place Aug. 25.
