Men’s soccer team plays to tie against Denver

DENVER — The Oral Roberts University men’s soccer team tied Summit League favorite No. 17 Denver at 1-all Saturday evening.
Both teams were equally matched Saturday as each squad had five total shots in the first half with two on goal. Denver came out ahead in the first 45 minute when David Biggers put the Pioneers up 1-0, in the 39th minute for his first goal of the season. ORU’s Reed Berry managed two total shots to lead the Golden Eagles (5-2-2 overall, 1-0-1 in Summit League play) in the first half.
In the second half, ORU had 10 total shots with three on goal. Although Denver had more shots on goal in the second, Jakub Grzesiak made two saves to not allow the Pioneers to score.
In the 84th minute, ORU’s Jose Estrada tied the match at 1-all when he scored his first goal of the season. His goal was unassisted. With the match tied, Denver sent two more shots towards the goal with minutes remaining, but sent them high and wide.
