Cross country teams, runners compete at Checotah Crossroads Meet

CHECOTAH — Several local high school and junior high cross country teams and runners competed in Tuesday’s Checotah Crossroads Meet.

CHECOTAH — Several local high school and junior high cross country teams and runners competed in Tuesday’s Checotah Crossroads Meet.

In the high school girls division, the Muldrow Lady Bulldogs were runners-up to Keys, as the Lady Bulldogs scored 132 points, while the Lady Cougars had 85 points.

The Central Lady Tigers were 11th (364 points) and the Sallisaw Lady Diamonds were 13th (413).

Two local runners finished in the top 10 and a third finished in the top 15.

Gore’s Hallie Kinion was third (13:42.04), Muldrow’s Katelynn Moore was sixth (13:57.46) and Sallisaw’s Molly Carver was 11th (14:23.78).

As for other Lady Bulldogs, Cailey Grinstead was 16th (14:42.42), Genna Stephenson was 26th (15:32.18), Emma Fields was 40th (16:04.23), Kennady Moore was 44th (16:10.81), Maysi Fields was 121st (18:49.96), Noa Coleman was 127th (19:24.67) and Isabelle Rogers was 142nd (20:12.9).

As for the Lady Tigers, Paris Campbell was their fastest runner, covering the two-mile course in 15:02.9 to place 22nd. Alyvia Warner was right behind her in 23rd place (15:13.92), followed by Ryleigh Pierce in 90th place (17:28.24), Rileigh Ford in 96th place (17:43.21) and Camryn Gilliam in 155th place (21:22.49).

As for other Lady Diamonds, Nicci Davis was 87th (17:24.78), Kali Crowe was 103rd (18:04.45), Michelle Laudan was 113th ( 1 8 : 3 0 . 4 8 ) , Jazmyne Wright was 119th (18:44.84), Haley Birdtail was 120th (18:46.59) and Zurri Knight was 130th (19:29.85).

Webbers Falls’ runner Cheyanne Herrier was 25th (15:25.84), Gore’s Amelia White was 56th (16:28.71) and Gore’s Gracie Bruce was 128th (20:09.39).

In the high school boys division, the Muldrow Bulldogs were fourth (164 points), while the Sallisaw Black Diamonds were 11th (279).

Sallisaw’s Jodai Sama Salinas was the lone local runner to make the top 15 as he was ninth, running the 5k race in 20:23.07. He was followed by fellow Black Diamonds Jonas Reid in 42nd place (22:57.87), Cash Mayfield in 70th place (24:00.29), Dawson Glover in 71st place (24:01.42), Jorge Thomason in 88th place (25:10.73), Ethan Wilhite in 122nd place (27:22.87) and Jackson Jiles in 154th place (34:42.71).

As for the ’Dogs, the fastest runners were Jesse Kilinc and Maliki Albertson, who were 23rd (21:46.49) and 24th (22:04.73), respectively. Wyatt Prewett was 30th (22:28.24), Gibson Price was 41st (22:57.56), Kendal Howell was 46th (23:09.59), Hayden Bullock was 69th (23:54.99), Hayden McKinster was 100th (26:05.62), Jaxson Anstine was 119th (27:10.6), ZeShan Bukhari was 128th (27:52.81), Andrew Prewett was 136th (28:28.34), Kashan Bukhari was 155th (29:55.92), Seth Nance was 169th (32:54.6) and Parker Sevenstar was 174th (37:10.43).

In the junior high girls division, the Lady Tigers were runners-up with 67 points, finishing behind team champion Warner (58 points). Sallisaw was ninth (331).

Three Lady Tigers made the top 15 as Sara Williams was fifth (8:31.59), Sadie Huff was sixth (8:32.54) and Emma Baggs was 10th (8:42.06) in the one-mile run. Graye Riggs was 16th (9:00.6), while Cobie Cawhorn was 30th (9:27.28).

For the Lady Diamonds, Emma Coury ran the mile race the fastest with a time of 9:36.56 to place 37th. Natalie Flute was 71st (10:20.87), Ellieanne Coury was 83rd (10:36.7), Molli Blount was 90th (10:44.7), Daisy Reid was 93rd (10:55.78) and Haley Callahan was 132nd (13:14.35).

In the junior high boys division, the Tigers were sixth with 256 points.

Caden Bair was the lone Tiger to make the top 15 as he was 13th (7:40.12), followed by Aiden Cawhorn in 24th place (8:01.1), Kage Poindexter in 37th place (8:24.15), Mason Louthan in 89th place (9:46.59) and Ian Greer was 113th (11:39.71).

Three Sallisaw Black Diamonds also ran the mile race. Steve Martinez was 99th (10:23.6), Jack Caughman was 112th (11:32.04) and Lucas Freeman was 123rd (17:40.42).
