Cowgirls close out in 5th place at Illini Women’s Invitational

MEDINAH, Ill. — Oklahoma State women’s golf finished strong at the Illini Women’s Invitational on Tuesday, wrapping up its time at Medinah Country Club in fifth.

Additionally, a trio of Cowgirls concluded their time in Broken Arrow at the Dale McNamara Invitational at The Golf Club of Oklahoma.

In Medinah, OSU finished at 4-under 860 with rounds of 294-286-280. Louisiana State University took home the hardware in Medinah, shooting a 27-under 837.

The Cowgirls showed out in the final 18, posting their best round score vs. par of the season with an 8-under 280. Their round-three score tied for third best in the field, while also jumping three teams in the standings on Tuesday.

Maddison Hinson-Tolchard climbed by the round at Medinah Country Club, ending the tournament tied for 16th with rounds of 74-70-69 213 to end play at 3-under 213.

Highlighted by a round two score of 68, Ellie Bushnell carded a 1-under 215 effort to finish tied for 19th. The freshman made paydirt on hole Nos. 1-5, shooting a combined score of 10-under across the quintet of holes. In all, she ranked tied for seventh in total birdies in the field — finishing with 13.

Marta Silchenko matched Bushnell’s card of 68 on Tuesday, shooting her lowest round as a Cowgirl to exit Medinah in 60th. After back-to-back rounds of 78 on Monday, the Freshman covered major ground in the final 18, logging seven birdies to move up 17 spots.

Clemence Martin shot a 2-under 70 in round three to close out the tournament tied for 27th at 1-over 217. Martin placed third in total birdies on the tournament with 39, adding in seven birdies.

Thitaporn Saithip logged 10 birdies across the tournament, concluding the tournament tied for 47 with rounds of 72-75-75.

Angelica Pfefferkorn finished tied for 79th as an individual.

In Broken Arrow, freshman Sammie Miller and fifth-year seniors Ashton Begley and Jenna Solheim finished up as individuals at the Dale McNamara Invitational.

Miller ended at The Golf Club of Oklahoma tied for 48th, shooting in the 70s across all three rounds.

Begley finished in 84th, while Solheim placed in 86th.

Next up, the Cowgirls will head to San Marcos, Texas, to round out its fall season at the Jim West Challenge. OSU looks to win the event for its third straight season, starting on Oct. 23.
