OSU takes down No. 23 Kansas

Down 32-24 with 11:13 remaining in the third quarter, the Cowboys (4-2 overall, 2-1 in Big 12 play) started the comeback with a Alex Hale 26-yard field goal with 5:28 left in the period to cut the KU lead to 32-27, which was the score entering the final quarter.
Hale’s 21-yard field goal with 11:32 left to play cut the OSU deficit to 32-30, then the Pokes took the lead for good on Brennan Presley’s 6-yard touchdown run. Although the conversion failed, OSU took a 36-32 lead with 2:33 remaining in the game.
To seal the deal, Hale hit a 42-yard field goal with 15 seconds left to bring the scoring to a close.
OSU quarterback Alan Bowman hit Ollie Gordon II with a 17-yard touchdown pass. After Hale’s extra point, the Cowboys had a 7-0 lead with 13:11 left in the first quarter.
Bowman’s second TD pass of the period, this one a 20-yarder to Presley, along with Hale’s PAT, doubled OSU’s advantage to 14-0 with 7:25 remaining in the period.
After the Jayhawks (5-2, 2-2) cut the deficit in half at 14-7 with 5:14 left in the first period, Hale’s first field goal of the game with 2:10 remaining in the period put OSU ahead 17-7 after the first 15 minutes.
However, Kansas outscored OSU 18-7 in the second quarter to enjoy a 25-24 halftime lead. The Pokes’ lone TD of the period came with 2:52 remaining before halftime on a 42-yard touchdown run by Gordon II, which put OSU ahead at the time 24-19.
A Kansas score with just 66 seconds left in the first half gave the Jayhawks a 25-24 halftime advantage, then KU scored the first TD of the third quarter to up its lead to 32-24 with 11:13 left in the period.
