Fishing Report for October 18, 2023

EUFAULA: Oct. 13. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 68 degrees and stained. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass good on buzz baits, crankbaits, jigs and plastic baits around channels, main lake, points, riprap and rocks. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, live bait, live shad and shad around channels, creek channels, river channel and river mouth. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs, minnows and spoons around channels, docks, main lake and riprap. Report submitted by Jake Rowland, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

GRAND: Oct. 10. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 80 degrees and stained. Largemouth bass fair on bill baits, crankbaits, jerk baits and jigs around coves, creek channels, docks and standing timber. Crappie good on hair jigs, minnows and plastic baits around brush structure. Striped bass hybrids and white bass fair on sassy shad and spinnerbaits around points and shorelines. Comments: Fishing continues to be good as the winds of change finally bring some cool weather. Crappie are in the brush and most folks are finding them around 15 feet. GREENLEAF: Oct. 14. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 68 degrees and clear. Largemouth bass good on crankbaits, jerk baits, lipless baits, plastic baits and topwater lures around coves, points and weed beds. Blue and channel catfish fair on chicken liver, cut bait and shad around coves, docks,and points. Crappie good on jigs, minnows and small lures around brush structure and docks. Report submitted by Dylan Langford, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

LOWER ILLINOIS: Oct. 14. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 60 degrees and clear. Brown trout and rainbow trout fair on caddis flies, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs and PowerBait below the dam. Comments: Best times are early morning and late evening. Best areas are below the dam and at the Watts area. Report submitted by Brek Henry, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

ROBERT S. KERR: Oct. 13. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 70 degrees and murky. Largemouth and spotted bass fair on minnows, plastic baits, spinnerbaits and spoons below the dam, coves, docks, river channel, rocks, tailwater and weed beds. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, hot dogs, minnows, shad, stinkbait and sunfish below the dam, main lake, river channel, river mouth and tailwater. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs and minnows below the dam, brush structure, creek channels, river channel and tailwater. Report submitted by Logan Shimp, game warden stationed in Haskell County.

TENKILLER: Oct.15. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 72 degrees and clear. Largemouth and spotted bass good on buzz baits, crankbaits, plastic baits and topwater lures around brush structure, channels, flats and shorelines. White bass good on crankbaits, in-line spinnerbaits and small lures around channels, flats, and main lake. Report submitted by Cody Youngblood, game warden stationed in Cherokee County.

WEBBERS FALLS: Oct. 14. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 68 degrees and stained. Blue catfish good on cut bait and shad below the dam, coves, points and river channel. White bass fair on crankbaits, plastic baits and spoons below the dam, riprap and river channel. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, jerk baits, lipless baits and plastic baits around main lake, points, river channel and weed beds. Report submitted by Dylan Langford, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

WISTER: Oct. 13. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 77 degrees and stained. Largemouth bass fair on buzz baits, jigs and plastic baits around brush structure, creek channels and river channel. Crappie excellent on jigs and minnows around brush structure, creek channels, main lake and river channel. Blue catfish good on cut bait and hot dogs around main lake.
