Razorbacks running in SEC cross country championships
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Three nationally ranked teams are set to battle for the 2023 Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championship team title this morning with an 8,000-meter race at the Charwood Golf Club. The eighth-ranked Arkansas men are the top ranked squad followed by No. 13 Tennessee and No. 22 Alabama, the defending champion.

The eighth-ranked Arkansas men are the top ranked squad followed by No. 13 Tennessee and No. 22 Alabama, the defending champion.
In the three previous times South Carolina has hosted the SEC Cross Country Championships — 1997, 2005, and 2010 — the result has been a team title for the Razorbacks with Alabama runner-up each time along with UA individual titles for Ryan Wilson (97) and Josphat Boit (05).
On the women’s side, contenders for the team title in the 6,000-meter women’s race will include five nationally ranked conference teams led by No. 7 Florida and followed by No. 11 Arkansas.
The three other SEC schools who enter the meet nationally ranked are defending champion Alabama at No. 13 along with No. 18 Ole Miss and No. 23 Tennessee.
The men’s race will begin at 9:08 a.m., followed by the women’s race at 9:50 a.m.
