Muldrow girls 14th at state; Gore runner earns All-State status

By DAVID SEELEY SPORTS EDITOR

EDMOND — The Muldrow Lady Bulldogs finished 14th at the Class 4A Cross Country State Meet, which took place Saturday morning at Edmond Santa Fe High School. The Lady Bulldogs ended with 369 points.

Senior Katelynn Moore was the fastest Lady Bulldogs as she ran the two-mile course in 13:12.65 to place 29th. Senior Kennady Moore was 89th (14:05.2), sophomore Genna Stephenson was 100th (14:19.37), senior Cailey Grinstead was 103rd (14:26.91), freshman Emma Fields was 115th (14:37.47), junior Noa Coleman was 137th (15:21.62) and junior Maysi Fields was 156th (16:40.53).

Sallisaw freshman Jodai Sama Salinas finished the 5k course in 54th place with a time of 17:48.38 in the Class 4A State Meet.

In the Class 2A State Meet, which also took place Saturday morning at Edmond Santa Fe High School, Gore’s Hallie Kinion ended her career with two of the three things she wanted.

Kinion finished ninth at Saturday’s Class 2A State Meet with a personal-best time of 12:46.62. By finishing the twomile race in the top 10, she earned herself All-State status as well as earning a medal.

The one goal that eluded Kinion was the Class 2A State Meet individual champion, which went to Laverne’s Kamryn Baggs — who ran the two-mile course in 11:56.49.

The other local runner in Saturday’s state meet was Central freshman Alyvia Warner, who finished 63rd (14:18.66).
