ORU runner places in top 25

BROOKINGS, S.D. — Andrew Smithwick registered a top 25 finish as the Oral Roberts cross country teams raced at the Summit League Championships on Saturday afternoon.

Smithwick registered a season-best time of 25:41.87 en route to a top 25 finish. The top 25 finish marked the first on the men’s side since 2019.

Erik Flores Burciaga placed 29th after logging a time of 25:54.77.

Rushell Johnson led the women’s side with a time of 22:47.40.

The sixth-place finish by the men’s squad marked their highest since 2019.
