SALLISAW TOPS

Members challenged to stretch and move

By Billie Anthony

We had nine weigh in this Monday. We had new member, Karen, join our chapter today. Welcome to TOPS 0737 Sallisaw! We had a chapter loss of 6.5 pounds. Billie, had the best weight loss of 2.4 pounds. Our chapter challenge stretch, walk and move your booty. Our Two Bit Bowl winner was Neve. We started the Losers Lotto contest today and also have a new surprise box to start pulling stickers off. We have ten ladies on the ladder. Eight mini clothes pins are on the ladder. It is possible that Mary and Brenda could win the Ladder contest next Monday. All the ladies did a great job this week.

Our program today “TOPS 10 Reasons to Lend a Hand at Chapter” was a program ideal to encourage chapter members to think about holding an office next year. Actively participating in chapter activities each week will help fuel your motivation and inspire others. A few remarks from TOPS members: 1. I became an officer three years ago and was nominated only a few months after joining TOPS. It played a huge part in keeping me motivated to lose over 100 pounds and reach my KOPS status.; 2. It’s so rewarding to watch success as it’s happening and, as a Leader, to feel you might have contributed in some small way to that success.; 3. I have an hour round-trip to get to my meetings. Some weeks I don’t feel like going after work, but being the Secretary helps me feel obligated and keeps me on track. I always feel better after going to our meetings.

We discussed future plans for our chapter. Now we are preparing for Funday in Stigler November 4th. The theme is Denim and Diamonds. We have started collecting things for our chapter basket made from a pair of blue jeans. We discussed some ideas for our Fun Day in June. We are getting excited about our theme. It will be a fun time and quite an experience for everyone attending June 8, 2024.

We closed our meeting with the TOPS Pledge.

EVERYONE is invited to visit. The FIRST VISIT is FREE. It cost $49 a year to join TOPS Club INC. We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10:30am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10:30am and the meeting starts at 11am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/413-1383. We look forward to meeting you.
