Palacein stretches winning streak to 3 with victory at Remington Park

The 4-year-old filly by Palace Malice out of the Langfuhr mare Naples Gold, managed her usual gate-to-wire victory with her long layoff beginning to show as she neared the finish line. She moved to trainer Scott Young’s barn since her last race, a trip to the winner’s circle in a 6.5-furlongs sprint at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, on June 17. She was trying seven furlongs for the first time in her career and enjoyed an early easy lead before the heavy favorite, Blame Day (1-2) and Appropriated Funds (3-1 second favorite) made strong runs at the winner down the lane.
Palacein had a two-length lead entering the stretch, but was only able to win by a half-length over runner-up Appropriated Funds, who was another nose in front of third-place finisher Blame Day. Palacein had been off 134 days before winning Wednesday. She was sent off at 7-1 odds and paid $16.20 to win, $12.80 to place and $3.40 to show. She stopped the timer at 1:23.98 over the fast track after setting every early fraction in 22.6 seconds for the first quarter-mile, 45.42 seconds for the half and 1:10.24 for three-quarters of a mile.
Palacein won at Lone Star by 2.25 lengths in allowance non-winners of three-career race company. Her victory at Remington on Wednesday was with allowance non-winners of four races as she continues to work through conditions. She is an Oklahoma-bred by owner Cimarron TTT Farms who impressively beat open company. Gerardo Mora rode her to both wins at Remington and Lone Star. In her streak, she also won at Fair Grounds in New Orleans on March 23 by 4.25 lengths at six furlongs against optional $17,500 claimers. Her fourth win was her maiden breaker at Remington Park on Oct. 1, 2022, by 5.5 lengths under jockey Richard Eramia.
The winning Oklahoma-bred filly earned $23,898 for her owner and breeder Cimarron TTT Farms of Edmond from the $40,000 purse Wednesday. That improved her career record to nine starts, four wins, one second and one third for a bankroll of $106,053.
Remington Park racing continues tonight and Saturday. Tonight’s races will begin at 7:07 p.m., while Saturday’s night’s action will begin at 7:13 p.m.
