The Sooners (1-0) had a 40-21 halftime lead, then outscored the Chippewas (01) in the second half 49-38.
Three Sooners hit for double figures, led by Javian McCollum with a gamehigh 19 points, followed by Otega Oweh with 18 points and John Hugley IV with 10 points.
The Sooners will continue their season-opening homestead with a 7 p.m. Friday home game against Mississippi Valley State at Lloyd Noble Center.
