Announcements of upcoming events for non-profit organizations and events in Sequoyah County may be delivered to Your TIMES in several different ways. They may be mailed to or hand delivered to Your TIMES at 111 N. Oak St. in Sallisaw. Events may be telephoned in by calling (918) 775-4433, or they may be e-mailed to news@seqcotimes.com or from a special form on Your TIMES Web site at www.sequoyahcountytimes.com.

The deadline for announcements for Wednesday’s edition is 11 a.m. on Tuesday. The deadline for announcements in Friday’s edition is 11 a.m. Thursday.

Your TIMES welcomes announcements and is pleased to publish them so that Sequoyah County residents can take advantage of the many activities occurring in the county.

Veterans Day program, 11 a.m. Sequoyah County Fairgrounds. Program includes flag dedication and retirement segment.

Tucker Community Supper, 5 to 7 p.m., Tucker Community Building. Proceeds to be used for upkeep of the Tucker Community Center. Supper will include, ham, Chicken/dressing, BBQ, veggies, desserts, tea and coffee. Adults $8, children 12 and under $4. Everyone invited to attend.

Annual Merchants Christmas Open House, holiday sales, refreshments and new items on display, Sallisaw.

MON. NOV. 13

Thanksgiving Take-out Dinner at the Bank, 4 to 6 p.m., Marble City. Entrée $12 per plate, includes choice of baked chicken or baked ham, both with dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, roll and sweet potato casserole, and choice of apple or pumpkin pie. Fort Smith Historical Society welcomes Thomas Jacques, host of the “King Biscuit Time” radio program, 6 p.m. first floor conference room of the Math/Science Building, University of Arkansas campus. Free and open to the public. For more info call 479-6294450.

Grief Support Group, 7 to 8:30 p.m., Victory Baptist Church, 103827 St. Hwy. 64-B, 9 miles north of Muldrow. Faith-based, all faiths welcome. Helping each other get through the loss of a loved one. Casual, come as you are. See Facebook-Lean On Me, a Grief Support.

American Legion and auxiliary meeting, doors open at 5 p.m., meeting 6 p.m., First Baptist Church, 122 W. Chickasaw, Sallisaw. Meetings held second Tuesday of each month. New members, visitors, and anyone interested in joining, always welcome.

The Sequoyah County Historical Society Museum will be open on Wednesdays, from 9:30 a.m. to noon

Bible study, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Simple Simons Pizza, 2401 E. Cherokee, Sallisaw. Pizza 6 to 6:30 p.m., Bible study begins at 7 p.m. Everyone welcome.

Annual Christmas lighting, 6 p.m. downtown Sallisaw. Santa will meet the children for wishes and photos.

THURS., NOV. 16 & 23

Line dancing exercise class, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Muldrow Cherokee Community Organization Building, 603 N. Main St., Muldrow.

Free crochet classes 2 to 4 p.m. at 3700 W. Cherokee Ave., Blue Ribbon Chapel, Sallisaw, with the Bizzy Beez. Classes held every Thursday. The Bizzy Beez volunteers invite the community to attend and learn how to crochet and enjoy the fellowship. Donation of yarn appreciated. For more information call Margaret Wood at 918-571-3345.
