ORU men fall in Summit League Tournament

TULSA — The Oral Roberts University men’s soccer team saw its stay in the 2023 Summit League Tournament be very short as the Golden Eagles lost 1-0 to the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks 1-0 on Thursday night at the Case Soccer Complex.

The semifinal match’s lone goal was scored in the 80th minute as UNO’s Mathis Pilon St.-Louis scored on assists from Sokol Ymeraj and Maruki Kawahara.

Each team had 10 shots on goal, five per half for both squads.

The Golden Eagles (10-43) had seven corner kicks as opposed to just one for the Mavericks (7-7-4).

However, the officials were busy blowing their whistles as 32 fouls were called, 17 for ORU. ORU player Thiago Patto received a red card.
