Golden Eagles reveal 2024 baseball schedule

By ORU MEDIA RELATIONS

TULSA — The Oral Roberts University baseball team and coach Ryan Folmar announced their 56-game schedule for the 2024 season on Wednesday. The 2024 slate features 32 contests at J.L. Johnson Stadium and eight games against Power 5 foes.

TULSA — The Oral Roberts University baseball team and coach Ryan Folmar announced their 56-game schedule for the 2024 season on Wednesday. The 2024 slate features 32 contests at J.L. Johnson Stadium and eight games against Power 5 foes.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a historic season that saw them post a program record (DI-era) 52 wins and advance to the College World Series for the first time since 1978. En route to its second trip to Omaha, Neb. ORU claimed its 26th conference regular season title and 27th conference tournament championship. Four players from the 2023 squad went on to hear their name called in the Major League Baseball Draft, while seven more signed professional contracts.

ORU opens its 2024 slate with 19 of its first 24 games at J.L. Johnson Stadium, starting with a three-game set against Evansville on Feb. 16-18. During the stretch, the Golden Eagles will host Missouri State (Feb. 20), Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (Feb. 23-25), Wichita State (Feb. 28), Central Michigan (March 5-6) and Massachusetts-Lowell (March 8-10) before welcoming Summit League foes South Dakota State (March 15-17) and North Dakota State (March 2224) to town.

The first road contest of the season comes March 1-3 as ORU travels to Waco, Texas, for a three-game set against Baylor. During the month of March, the Golden Eagles also will travel to Arkansas (March 12), a 2023 NCAA Regional host, and Oklahoma (April 30), a 2023 NCAA Tournament participant, for midweek action as well as Nebraska-Omaha (March 28-30) for a three-game series.

ORU opens the month of April with a midweek matchup at O’Brate Stadium against Oklahoma State, a 2023 NCAA Regional host, before hitting the road for a three-game set against Summit League foe Northern Colorado on April 5-7. The Golden Eagles then return home for a four-game stretch against Missouri State (April 9) followed by St. Thomas (April 12-14). ORU closes the month with seven of nine on the road, with home midweek match-ups against OSU (April 23) and OU (April 30) mixed in.

The midweek against the Sooners kickstarts a nine-game homestand for the Golden Eagles, which features matchups against Nebraska-Omaha (May 3-5), Arkansas-Little Rock (May 7) and Northern Colorado (May 10-12). ORU will close the regular season with a midweek contest at Missouri State (May 14) followed by a three-game set at St. Thomas (May 16-18).

Following the regular season, the Golden Eagles will host the 2024 Summit League Baseball Championship at J.L. Johnson Stadium May 22-25. This marks the 18th time in program history that ORU will host the championship.

The Golden Eagles return 19 players from last season’s squad, highlighted by All-Summit League honorees Jakob Hall, Drew Stahl, Holden Breeze and Brooks Fowler. Folmar and his staff’s 2023 recruiting class, which features 19 newcomers, was tabbed as one of the best in the country by Collegiate Baseball.
