STILLWATER — Mike Marsh finished with 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting as Oklahoma State rolled over Houston Christian 92-65 on Friday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Six players scored in double-figures for OSU (3-3) for the first time since a Nov. 22, 2021, win over the College of Charleston.
Marsh was accompanied by Jarius Hicklen (12 points on four 3-point baskets), Eric Dailey Jr. (12), Brandon Garrison (10), John-Michael Wright (10) and Jamyron Keller (10).
Garrison became just the fourth Cowboy freshman to record six-ormore blocks in a single game, joining a club that includes Yor Anei (2018-19), Byron Houston (1988-89) and Leroy Combs (1979-80).
Javon Small (eight assists) and Quion Williams (career-high six) combined for 14 of OSU’s 24 assists. The Cowboys committed just nine turnovers and out-rebounded the visitors 47-38.
Marcus Greene (16 points) and Chigozie Alvarez (15) led the scoring for Houston Christian (0-4), which made nine of its first 13 shots on the way to a 25-23 lead midway through the first half but connected on just 15of-51 the rest of the way to finish at 37.5 percent.
Wright’s 3-pointer — the 250th of his NCAA career — put OSU back in front for good with 9:26 to play in the half and set off a 10-0 run. The Cowboys would lead by 15 at the intermission.
OSU shot 52.9 percent during its highest-scoring first half (52 points) since Dec. 22, 2017, when they put up 53 against Texas-Rio Grande Valley. Marsh accounted for 10 points and Dailey and Wright chipped in eight each.
HCU scored the first four points of the second half to pull within 52-41 but missed its next eight shots.
OSU capitalized with 21-3 run, sparked by three Hicklen triples.
The Cowboys pushed their lead to as many as 32 points with 5:03 to play.
Helped by 20 fast break points, OSU shot 48.6 percent from the field. Ten Cowboys played at least 10 minutes and all of them scored.
OSU wraps up its homestand at 8 p.m Thursday against No. 8/7 Creighton.
