FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The disappointing 2023 football season ended with another disappointment as the Arkansas Razorbacks lost their annual Border War game to the ninth-ranked Missouri Tigers 48-14 on Friday afternoon on Frank Broyles Field at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
The Razorbacks (4-8 overall, 1-7 in Southeastern Conference play) never led, and never scored until two fourth-quarter touchdowns — one being an 8-yard TD pass from Jacolby Criswell to Andrew Armstrong and the other being a 6-yard touchdown run by Isaiah Augustave — which was his first collegiate touchdown. Cam Little, who is 129-for-129 on extra-point attempts in his career and owns the school record for consecutive PATs, hit both extra points.
The Tigers (10-2, 6-2) took a 10-0 after the first quarter, which became a 20-0 halftime advantage and a 41-0 lead entering the final period.
In defeat, defensive lineman John Morgan III had a career-high five tackles and registered a season-high in tackles for loss with two, while defensive back Lorando Johnson tied his career high in pass break-ups with two while compiling two tackles.
“We knew they had a really good football team and a physical football team,” Arkansas coach Sam Pittman said. “They played a really good game, and obviously we did not.”
