The Dollar General in Roland is receiving new life as it transitions into a Dollar General (DG) Market.
The store, located on Ray Fine Blvd., suffered extensive damage from a July windstorm that also brought down many trees and power lines in eastern Sequoyah County.
As a DG Market, the store will offer fresh produce, vegetables and meat, in addition to some other non-food items, like household goods, some home decor and seasonal items.
“We are excited to be able to reopen at this location,” said a representative from Dollar General. “We hoped to open much sooner but as we began to rebuild, we decided to make the transition to a DG Market…as it offers our customers quality food for way less than other places, and they don’t have to drive to Walmart or Fort Smith.”
Despite being across the street from a grocery store, Dollar General says that their offerings will be slightly different, and their prices will be much lower.
The store is expected to open sometime in early 2024.
