New Webbers Falls girls coach Garren Weatherton got her second win in as many games with her new team as the Lady Warriors prevailed 53-29, but the Warriors lost for the first time this season as they fell 62-23 to the Wildcats.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Warriors (20) put away the game early as they jumped out to a 26-3 lead after a quarter, which became a 38-8 halftime advantage and a 45-20 lead going into the final period.
For the game, Teralynn Colston scored a game-high 26 points to lead Webbers Falls, followed by Abby Pense with 11 points, Bridgette Baer with eight points, Bailey Ward with four points, River Harrison with three points and Jaylene Goodman with a free throw.
In the boys’ contest, the Warriors fell behind 9-4 after a period, but then the ’Cats put away the game with a 26-6 second quarter to take a 35-10 lead at halftime, which became a 45-21 advantage going into the fourth quarter.
In defeat, Stryker Chappell led Webbers Falls with 11 points, followed by Luke Pierce with four points, Maddux Shelby with three points and Denver Morgan and Braydan Robinson with two points apiece.
