During the week of Nov. 27 – Dec. 3, 2023

Sequoyah County law enforcement tended to 23 animal calls, 125 traffic stops, and numerous medical and domestic calls according to police reports.

Following is a list of incidents included in last week’s reports:

11/27/2023

7:38 a.m. – Speak with Deputy – Unknown Location. RP would like to speak with an officer about an incident that happened on Thanksgiving. CJ McGee responded.

8:55 a.m. – Stolen Property – In the vicinity of 1100 Rd. RP would like to speak with an officer regarding stolen property, specifically a stolen chainsaw that was previously taken from his residence. Brian Stone and CJ McGee responded.

9:04 a.m. – Altercation – In the vicinity of Hwy. 141. RP reported that there was a verbal altercation taking place at his fatherin- law’s residence. Brian Stone responded.

9:47 a.m. – Threats – In the vicinity of 4540 Rd. RP advised that his brother is at his home verbally assaulting his mother, and making threats. Brian Stone and CJ McGee responded.

1:50 p.m. – Other – Unknown Location. RP would like to report that someone has violated the RP’s PO and has made contact with him, and his friends. Brian Stone responded.

4:23 p.m. – Speak with Deputy Gans School. RP called to report that her child came home with rope burns on their neck, which are allegedly from an incident on the school bus. The RP reports having first talked to the school administration, and then the bus driver. Dispatch advised the parent to discuss the matter with the SRO (School Resource Officer) the next day, but she was still deciding whether to do so. Brian Stone responded.

4:57 p.m. – Stolen Property – In the vicinity of 4705 Rd. RP called to report that her firearm has been missing for a couple of weeks and that she cannot find it in her residence and believes it was stolen. CJ McGee responded.

5:18 p.m. – Speak with Deputy Unknown Location. RP wanted to let dispatch know that she will be at her late aunt’s home to meet the deputies who are on their way to remove the dogs from the residence. Randy Freeman responded.

10:22 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle WW Grocery. RP called to report a vehicle that has been sitting in the parking lot for some time, with its lights on. Jeff Neighbors responded.

11/28/2023

7:14 a.m. – Disturbance – In the vicinity of 995 Rd. RP advised that there were issues last night with his dog and a neighbor’s dog. The neighbor is now at the RP’s residence yelling. Justin Deuley responded.

8:00 a.m. – Other – Unknown Location. RP called to speak with a deputy regarding how to get his vehicle back after his wife received it as part of a divorce settlement. Dispatch advised that this matter was civil.

10:34 a.m. – Vandalism – In the vicinity of 970 Rd. RP would like to report that his neighbors have dug up his fence. Shane Petree responded.

11:26 a.m. – Stolen Property – In the vicinity of 4705 Rd. RP would like to report that her husband is stealing money from their joint checking account. Brian Stone responded.

12:15 p.m. – Threats – In the vicinity of 1060 Rd. RP advised that her grandson who was served an eviction notice has not left the premises, and is threatening her. CJ McGee responded.

12:34 p.m. – Threats – In the vicinity of 4660 Rd. RP advised that someone is threatening to “shoot her house up,” and is verbally assaulting them on the phone. Brian Stone responded.

3:17 p.m. – Trespassing – In the vicinity of Lessley St. RP is requesting an officer to intervene in an ongoing issue she is having with her ex-boyfriend, who is selling a vehicle that is parked on the RP’s property. Shane Duncan responded.

5:59 p.m. – Trespassing – In the vicinity of 1140 Rd. RP advised that her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend is at the RP’s home demanding the return of her baby’s clothing, and has entered the house without permission. Mark Choate responded.

8:48 p.m. – Speak with Deputy Gans Area. RP reports that her adult grandson was just released from jail today, and she would like to know why. Mark Choate responded.

10:44 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle Snack Mart. The vehicle is parked in front of the store and no one is around. Shane Duncan responded.

11/29/2023

11:01 a.m. – Other – In the vicinity of 1120 Rd. RP advised that someone is standing on the roadway with not enough clothing on for the cold weather. Daniel Whitus responded.

12:33 p.m. – Suspicious Person – Dollar Store. RP reported someone is currently stealing things from the store. Daniel Whitus responded.

1:17 p.m. – Speak with Deputy Unknown Location. RP is trying to request information about an incident that previously happened. RP felt like more information should have been added to the report. Daniel Whitus responded.

3:46 p.m. – Shooting Firearms Unsafely – In the vicinity of 4758 Rd. RP heard gunshots from outside, and when he went to confront the shooter, the person aimed the gun at him and threatened him. Justin Deuley responded.

3:54 p.m. – Speak with Deputy – In the vicinity of 985 Rd. RP fought with their spouse earlier today and he told her to remove her marijuana from the house and his truck, but she has not done so yet. Justin Deuley responded.

4:08 p.m. – Speak with Deputy – In the vicinity of Minnie Martin. RP was told yesterday that he hit a truck with her walker as she was trying to enter a store. RP would like to obtain a copy of the police report that the truck driver filed. Larry Milligan responded.

8:04 p.m. – Breaking and Entering – In the vicinity of 4758 Rd. RP owns a house in the country and it is unoccupied. Today, the neighbor reported seeing lights on inside the house. Allen Ramey responded.

9:21 p.m. – Drugs – In the vicinity of 1005 Rd. RP has found what he believes to be a meth pipe at his house and thinks it might belong to his mother’s ex-boyfriend. Hunter Hutchinson responded.

9:18 p.m. – Stolen Vehicle – In the vicinity of Lessley Rd. RP works for Adair County Sheriff’s Office and needs help locating a stolen trailer in the area. Allen Ramey responded.

11:43 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – In the vicinity of 966 Rd. RP reported a vehicle being parked outside of an abandoned building. Charles Webber responded.

11/30/2023

8:30 a.m. – Trespassing – In the vicinity of 4707 Rd. RP advised her husband was supposed to vacate their shared residence today and he has refused to. RP states that the husband is making threats. Daniel Whitus responded.

9:41 a.m. – Speak with Deputy – In the vicinity of 4707 Rd. RP stated that he is the husband from the previous call and that he was only on the property to get his trailer when the wife called. Daniel Whitus responded.

3:25 p.m. – Stolen Property – In the vicinity of 4580 Rd. RP advised that he has been missing a gun for a few days, and is not sure when it was stolen. Justin Deuley responded.

6:39 p.m. – Extra Patrol Request – In the vicinity of 4612 Rd. RP advises she has been having an ongoing feud with her neighbors and would like extra patrol to ensure her safety. Charles Webber responded.

12/01/2023

6:04 a.m. – Disturbance – In the vicinity of Moss St. RP advises that there is a dog around his vehicle. RP is not sure if the dog is alone, or if there is someone in his yard or home. Joleen McLaughlin responded.

8:39 a.m. – Harassment – In the vicinity of 1115 Rd. RP called to report harassment she has been receiving via text message. While on the phone with dispatch, the caller said she had to leave and would call back later. Brian Stone responded.

1:58 p.m. – Stolen Property – In the vicinity of 1050 Rd. RP advised that his doorbell camera was taken off his property on Sunday. CJ McGee responded.

2:20 p.m. – Information – Unknown Location. Wildhorse Towing called to ask for assistance with a car repossession. While at the location to collect the car, they found the vehicle to be occupied by cats. The towing company was unsure what to do but also wanted to ensure that the animals were taken care of. Randy Freeman responded.

3:56 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle – In the vicinity of 1060 Rd. Brown van with blue tape on it has been sitting on the shoulder of the road. Dispatch reports having several calls about the vehicle. CJ McGee responded.

4:17 p.m. – Disturbance – In the vicinity of Hunter Ave. RP called to report that she has a legal right (via a court case) to be in her home until Jan. 1, but that the new homeowner is in the front yard with someone to do a walk-through inspection. The RP is scared and does not feel safe. Larry Milligan responded.

5:19 p.m. – Trash Dumping – In the vicinity of 4700 Rd. RP advised that someone has dropped three bags of garbage near her son’s mailbox and she is suspicious about what might be inside of them. CJ McGee responded.

8:49 p.m. – Suspicious Person In the vicinity of 4570 Rd. RP reports a man at the end of her driveway looking around with a blank look on his face. Randy Taylor, Mark Choate and Tyler Engleman responded.

10:11 p.m. – Disturbance – Unknown Location. RP reports that a neighboring apartment has some noises that sound like a fight in progress. Jeff Neighbors and Tyler Engleman responded.

12/02/2023

10:13 a.m. – Trespassing – In the vicinity of 1056 Rd. RP would like to have her son trespassed from her property. CJ McGee responded.

10:15 a.m. – Suspicious Person – In the vicinity of 4779 Rd. RP advised that there are two males in a gold van going door-to-door in the neighborhood. CJ McGee responded.

10:42 a.m. – Speak with Deputy – In the vicinity of 1112 Rd. RP advised that he moved a woman into his home and recently kicked her out. He now believes she has stolen some of his property. Brian Stone responded.

4:30 p.m. – Speak with Deputy Snack Mart. RP says he saw in the paper that his business was broken into recently and believes he knows who the suspect is. Larry Milligan responded.

4:36 p.m. – Speak with Deputy In the vicinity of Hwy. 101. RP advised that he was pulled over yesterday and his vehicle was searched. RP reports that his pocket knife was taken from the vehicle, and he would like to know how he can obtain it back. Jeff Neighbors responded.

6:55 p.m. – Speak with Deputy Marvin’s. RP states he has been blocked in by other vehicles and would like to have someone call the owners so he can leave. Larry Milligan responded.

12/03/2023

1:55 a.m. – Fight in Progress – In the vicinity of 1006 Rd. RP called and advised that two family members were fighting, and one was intoxicated. Mark Choate responded.

11:08 a.m. – Speak with Deputy – Gans. RP is afraid her son might be in trouble because he did not sign up for Selective Service (the draft). Brian Stone responded.

11:58 a.m. – Speak with Deputy – In the vicinity of “Old” Hwy 64. RP is trading his truck for a motorcycle and would like to check that the motorcycle has not been stolen. CJ McGee responded.

12:37 p.m. – Disturbance – In the vicinity of 1117 Rd. RP called 911 screaming, saying that her boyfriend was attacking her. She then hung up. Dispatch returned the call and the RP said everything was okay, and that the fight was over. RP further stated that she did not want police to respond. Still, CJ McGee responded.

1:56 p.m. – Disturbance – In the vicinity of 4758 Rd. RP advised he has a PO against someone, and that the person is sitting in his truck near the RP’s home. CJ McGee responded.

3:15 p.m. – Harassment – Liberty School area. RP called to report that while driving, someone who resembled a family member was tailgating and flipping her off. Brian Stone responded.

4:09 p.m. – Other – In the vicinity of 1082 Rd. RP wants to talk to a deputy about his neighbors shooting guns near his home. CJ McGee responded.

7:34 p.m. – Suspicious Person In the vicinity of 4757 Rd. RP would like to report a car parked with people in it, that appears to have been sitting for hours. Jeff Neighbors responded.

8:40 p.m. – Other – In the vicinity of 4445 Rd. RP would like to report someone is driving an ATV (4-wheeler) on his property without permission. Jeff Neighbors responded.
