CASA for Children is currently in need of volunteers in Sequoyah County and will be holding an event for those interested in making a difference for abused and neglected children in our community.
“Lunch with CASA” will be held today, Jan. 24, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Aromas Coffee Shop, 1200 Mentzer Ave., Sallisaw.
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are volunteers trained by CASA for Children and matched with a child or sibling group in foster care. Volunteers spend quality time with the youth and learn about every aspect of their case.
This allows the CASA to effectively advocate for them in court, school, medical settings, and more to ensure all of their personalized needs are being met. A CASA volunteer makes sure a child’s voice is heard.
Many children in the community are currently waiting for a CASA volunteer of their own. With just 8 to 10 hours a month, you can help a child thrive and put them on a path toward a successful future.
