Sooners drop Big 12 road game at UCF

The Knights (13-8 overall, 4-5 in Big 12 play) scored the first seven points of the contest and raced out to a 15-4 advantage after back-to-back triples by Antwann Jones.
Senior Rivaldo Soares brought the Sooners (16-6, 4-5) back within three with a pair of dunks before UCF’s Payne responded with a slam.
OU narrowed the UCF advantage to 23-21 after a pair of made free throws by junior Jalon Moore and a jumper by Soares.
UCF outscored the Sooners 11-5 to end the half and entered the break up 34-27.
Junior Javian McCollum opened the second frame with two free throws after UCF was assessed a flagrant foul after the end of the half.
Jones scored on a slashing lay-up for the first UCF points of the half and sophomore Milos Uzan knocked down a 3-point basket, cutting the deficit to 3632.
The Knights strung together an 8-2 run, capping the spurt with a pair of free throws by Ibrahim Diallo. Sophomore Otega Oweh cut the advantage to 44-36 with 15:52 left before UCF buried four consecutive free throws, pushing its lead back to double digits.
The Knights continued their strong shooting performance and never let their lead dip below 10 for the final 15:20.
Moore recorded a double-double, finishing with a team-high 11 rebounds and 10 points. Soares scored 11 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field.
The Sooners were slated to entertain Brigham Young University on Tuesday night at Lloyd Noble Center.
