NORMAN — Juniors Jalon Moore and Javian McCollum combined for 32 points and No. 25/21 Oklahoma men’s basketball fell to No. 6 Kansas 67-57 on Saturday afternoon at Lloyd Noble Center.

Moore recorded team highs in points (17) and rebounds (eight). The Birmingham, Ala., product finished 5-of-10 from the field and knocked down two threes. McCollum tallied 15 points and drained three 3-point baskets. Sophomore Milos Uzan added 11 points, five rebounds, a team-high four assists and two steals.

The Sooners (18-8 overall, 6-7 in Big 12 play) held an 11-point advantage with 2:05 left in the first after senior Le’Tre Darthard buried the Sooners’ seventh 3-pointer.

The Jayhawks (20-6, 8-5) countered and strung together a 6-0 run to close the half. OU entered the break up 3429.

After Kansas’ Hunter Dickinson opened the second frame with a layup, McCollum drained his third trey, putting the Sooners up 37-31.

KU’s K.J. Adams Jr. trimmed the deficit to three before McCollum sank two of six made free throws.

With OU up 39-34 with 16:18 remaining, Kansas scored five unanswered points over the next two minutes, tying the game for the first time since 15:52 in the first half.

Sophomore Otega Oweh gave the Sooners back the lead with a jumper before a single free throw by Dickinson and Johnny Furphy tied at 41-all with 11:04 left.

Moore gave the Sooners back the advantage after two made free throws, but Dickinson was quick to counter, evening the score once more with a lay-up.

Senior Sam Godwin provided a brief spark with a thunderous dunk, completing the three-point play at the line.

OU’s lead didn’t last long as Dajuan Harris Jr. and Kevin McCullar Jr. drained back-to-back triples, putting the Jayhawks up 54-48 with 8:03 left.

Despite comeback attempts by the Sooners, Kansas controlled the remainder of the contest.

The Sooners will be idle until Saturday’s Bedlam game against Oklahoma State at 3 p.m. at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
