Fishing Report for February 28, 2024

EUFAULA: Feb. 23. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 44 degrees and stained. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, jerk baits, jigs, plastic baits and topwater lures around channels, points, riprap and rocks. Blue, channel and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, dough bait, live bait and live shad around river channel and river mouth. Crappie excellent on crankbaits, hair jigs, minnows and spoons around docks, main lake, points and riprap. Report submitted by Jake Rowland, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

GRAND: Feb. 20. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 50 degrees and stained. White bass fair on hair jigs, jigs and small lures below the dam, river channel and sandbar. Crappie fair on hair jigs, minnows, spoons and tube jigs. Blue and channel catfish fair on chicken liver, cut bait and shad around main lake and river channel. Report submitted by C. Newkirk, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

GREENLEAF: Feb. 25. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 48 degrees and clear. Largemouth bass good on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, jerk baits and plastic baits around brush structure, docks, points, shorelines and weed beds. Crappie fair on jigs, minnows and slabs around brush structure and docks. Blue catfish fair on cut bait and shad around docks, flats and main lake. Report submitted by Dylan Langford, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

LOWER ILLINOIS: Feb. 23. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 45 degrees and clear. Rainbow trout good on caddis flies, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs and PowerBait below the dam. Comments: Best areas are below the dam and at the Watts area. Report submitted by Brek Henry, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

ROBERT S. KERR: Feb. 23. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 50 degrees and murky. Largemouth and spotted bass good on crankbaits, minnows and plastic baits around brush structure, channels, coves and weed beds. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, dough bait, hot dogs, minnows, shad, shrimp, sunfish and worms below the dam, coves, main lake, points and river mouth. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs and minnows below the dam, brush structure, channels, creek channels, main lake and points. Report submitted by Logan Shimp, game warden stationed in Haskell County.

TENKILLER: Feb. 26. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 48 degrees and clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass good on crankbaits, jigs, plastic baits and spinnerbaits around brush structure, channels and points. Crappie good on hair jigs, minnows and tube jigs around brush structure, docks and main lake. White bass fair on Alabama rigs, jigs and small lures around channels and flats. WEBBERS FALLS: Feb. 25. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 48 degrees and stained. Striped and white bass fair on Alabama rigs, jigs, plastic baits and sassy shad below the dam, river channel and river mouth. Blue catfish good on cut bait, shad and sunfish around flats, main lake, points, river channel and tailwater. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around brush structure, coves, points and shallows. Report submitted by Dylan Langford, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

WISTER: Feb. 23. Elevation is a foot above normal and falling. The water temperature is 52 degrees and stained. Largemouth bass fair on jigs, plastic baits and spinnerbaits around brush structure, creek channels and main lake. Blue and channel catfish good on cut bait, hot dogs and shad around main lake and river channel. Crappie good on jigs and minnows around brush structure, main lake, river channel and tailwater. Report submitted by James Williams, game warden stationed in LeFlore County.
