Increase physical activity

By Billie Anthony

We had a fun day today with 14 members in attendance. Virginia and Barbara had our best weight losses. Way to go Ladies! Keep up the great work! Donna’s name was drawn from the Two Bit Bowl so she won 3 weeks of coins. Virginia and Barbara had the most per cent loss this week for the contest Shirley started with last week’s weight loss. Eleven of our ladies got to sign the Loser’s Lotto contest and Brenda won the Surprise box. We will have a new box next week. We had a good day of giving our awards. Virginia and Barbara received prizes for best weight loss this week, plane pinnettes were given to Brenda and Barbara, and Two Bit bowl to Donna. After drawing our next week’s challenge, which is to exercise 15 minutes a day for five days.

We closed the meeting and moved tables together to work on file folders with our thin or younger photos of ourselves on the covers. We placed stickers of encouraging phrases on the folders. Billie gave out journal pages for keeping the food we will eat this week. We will be keeping our food charts for the month of March. Hopefully, this exercise will help us with our weight loss journey and we can continue on through April. We had infused water to drink and a few veggies to snack on.

We had a copy of the letter from our Service Program Administrator, Judy. She challenged us to increase our physical activity. Also, we are being challenged to focus on Nutrition and Sleep. Keep in mind, these small challenges area to help you stay focused and perhaps provide some program material for chapter meetings.

We are meeting Saturday at 8:30 am to drive down to Poteau for a SAG (Southeast Awards Gathering) meeting. We have 12 members signed up to go. Yay! The theme is an exercise theme with awards for best weight losses, best exercises, keeping food journals and Poteau will be serving us lunch.

We closed our meeting with the TOPS Pledge. EVERYONE is invited to visit. The FIRST VISIT is FREE. It cost $49 a year to join TOPS Club INC. We meet at First Christian Church, 706 N Wheeler, Sallisaw, Monday at 10:30am-12pm. We begin weighing at 10:30am and the meeting starts at 11am and ends at 12. For more info, please call Billie at 918/413-1383. We look forward to meeting you.
