During the week of Feb. 19 25, 2024, Sequoyah County law enforcement tended to 20 animal calls, 127 traffic stops, along with numerous medical and domestic calls according to police reports. Following is a list of incidents included from last week’s reports:

02/19/2024
6:26 a.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of S. 4760 Rd- RP called to request information about how to obtain services for a family member, who is possibly under the influence of alcohol. CJ McGee responded.
10:12 a.m. – Suspicious Vehicle- In the vicinity of S. 4523 Rd- RP advised that there was a box truck that says “Mom’s Meals” driving down the dead-end of her street. When the RP confronted the driver, the truck drove away, and the RP felt it was suspicious. Shane Petree responded.
1:36 p.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of E.1005 Rd- RP requested to speak with a deputy regarding someone taking all the food from his fridge. Brian Stone responded.
4:36 p.m. – Speak with Deputy- Garden Walk- RP advised that there was a car parked on the sidewalk in front of the stop sign. Joleen McLaughlin responded.
5:38 p.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of E. 1080 Rd- RP called to report that while he was shooting his gun at his own home, the neighbor came outside saying that he shot at their home. RP told dispatch that the neighbor was possibly mentally ill and requested a deputy to speak with the neighbor. Jeff Neighbors responded.
6:53 p.m. – Shooting Firearms Unsafely- In the vicinity of E. 1028 Rd- RP reported that his neighbors were shooting guns at the highway. Jeff Neighbors responded.
6:54 p.m. – Trash Dumping In the vicinity of E. 994 Rd RP advised that there was someone dumping trash in her yard. Tyler Engleman responded.
10:26 p.m. – Threats- In the vicinity of Hwy. 82- RP called to report that someone had called threatening his life. Tyler Engleman responded.

4:56 a.m. – Other- In the vicinity of S. 4799 Rd- The Federal Aviation Administration called to report that a plane was flying over Short and someone was shining a red laser at the plane. Tyler Engleman responded.
11:03 a.m. – Other- In the vicinity of E. 962 Rd- RP reported that someone placed a travel trailer near her home and she believes that the sewage pipe was purposely left open to drain onto the ground. Shane Petree responded.
11:37 a.m. – Fraud- In the vicinity of S. 4590 Rd- RP reported that someone has stolen his identity and has been making illegal purchases using his debit card. Brian Stone responded.
1:20 p.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of Hwy. 64B- RP believed he had found a “shank” with blood on it. Brian Stone responded.
1:25 p.m. – Vandalism- In the vicinity of S. 4720 Rd- RP believes that his neighbor may have run over one of his cars while they were clearing out the woods between their two homes. Brian Stone responded.
2:26 p.m. – Traffic- Unknown Location near Gore- RP called to report a small SUV driving erratically. While on the phone with dispatch, the RP reported that the car hit a ditch, and one person fell out of the vehicle and began walking down the road. Gore PD responded.
3:34 p.m. – Property Dispute Akins- RP reported that he owns 30 acres that once belonged to his parents. The property is now being auctioned under a Sheriff sale, and the RP requested to speak to a deputy about the reasons it is being sold against his will. Brian Stone responded.

11:02 a.m. – Stolen Property In the vicinity of Sequoyah St- RP advised that he believed someone may have stolen the battery from his boat. Joleen McLaughlin responded.
11:30 a.m. – Suspicious Person- Unknown Location- RP reported seeing a man wearing green and black clothing walking to the area school with a rifle. Daniel Whitus, Cody Parkerson, Justin Deuley and Marble City PD responded but could not make contact with the suspect.
2:46 p.m. – Fraud- Unknown Location- RP reported that his debit card was recently stolen and someone has made three transactions in Catoosa. Shelton Fair responded and took a report.
2:47 p.m. – Property Dispute In the vicinity of S. 4510 Rd- RP reported that their neighbor backed into one of the vehicles in his yard and left. The RP believes the person was heavily intoxicated. Justin Deuley responded.
3:09 p.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of E. 1130 Rd- RP advised that their landlord has turned off all utilities to their rental unit. Cody Parkerson responded.
3:12 p.m. – Fraud- Unknown Location- RP (from previous call) called again to report that someone had again used his debit card. Shelton Fair responded.
3:53 p.m. – Altercation Heath’s Shop- RP reported having purchased a basketball card from the store under the pretense that the card was authentic. Upon looking at the card, the RP realized that the card was fake and wanted a deputy to help him get his money back. Mark Harkins and Justin Deuley responded.
4:26 p.m. – Information- In the vicinity of Bushyhead RP called to inquire why a deputy was parked in his driveway, and why they were at his house, but never left the car. Mark Harkins responded.
5:53 p.m. – Fraud- In the vicinity of E. 1115 Rd- RP reported that his mail had been stolen, and wanted to know what his rights were. The RP reported that his mother sent him a package with tracking information (which showed the item was delivered that day) but it was not. Hunter Hutchinson responded.
6:01 p.m. – Information- In the vicinity of Cody Lane RP called to report that he had heard through a third party that there was a wanted person in a house near the area. The RP called at 6:26 p.m. to report that he had confirmed the suspect was wanted and requested a deputy to respond. Mark Harkins and Sallisaw PD responded and made an arrest.
7:25 p.m. – Fraud- In the vicinity of E. 1000 Rd- RP advised that their cell phone carrier was adding another line to their family plan without their consent. The RP also stated that the customer service representative was acting suspicious and no one from the company is helping to resolve the situation. Mark Choate responded.
9:27 p.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of Hwy. 82- RP called to report that they felt a family member was being kidnapped by another family member, and that the suspect is preying on the possibly kidnapped family member. Mark Choate responded.
10:51 p.m. – Stolen Property- In the vicinity of Hwy. 101- RP advised that his truck was broken into on Monday, and he felt it was time to now make a report. Allen Ramey responded.
11:41 p.m. – Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of E. 1075 Rd- RP called on behalf of her father (who had attempted to call dispatch earlier) to report that there was a man in the street with headphones on, who looked “deranged.” Allen Ramey responded but could not make contact with the suspect or RP.

6:30 a.m. – Information- Vian Love’s- RP stated that he was cut-off on I-40 by a semi truck, and he followed the truck to Love’s and wanted to have a deputy talk to the driver. Joleen McLaughlin responded.
10:10 a.m. – Complaint- In the vicinity of E. 997 Rd- RP called to ask why no one responded to his call (from the day before) in regards to someone walking near his home with a gun. Cody Parkerson responded.
1:28 p.m. – Suspicious Person- Unknown Location RP reported that there was a man sitting on the side of the road eating food, and that he looked homeless. The RP also stated that the person seemed suspicious and out-of-place for the neighborhood. Daniel Whitus responded.
3:49 p.m. – Breaking and Entering- Unknown Location (near Vian)- RP reported that his van was broken into. Dispatch passed the information to Cody Parkerson who advised the caller that the situation was civil.
3:57 p.m. – Shooting Firearms Unsafely- In the vicinity of S. 4750 Rd- RP reported that, while sitting outside, a bullet flew just past her head. Daniel Whitus responded.
5:10 p.m. – Complaint- In the vicinity of Avalon Dr- RP called to report that there was a police officer at his residence and that things were not “going the way he needed them to go,” and requested a deputy investigate the police officer. Cody Parkerson and Kaitlyn Sanders responded.
5:37 p.m. – Stolen Property In the vicinity of Hwy. 64BRP advised that, four years ago, her chainsaw was stolen, and she just saw it out front of a residence along Hwy. 64B. While on the phone with dispatch, the RP said she was going to go get the chainsaw back, despite dispatch advising her to wait for a deputy. Allen Ramey responded.

8:31 p.m. – Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of Hwy. 64B- RP reported seeing a man with long dark hair walking along Hwy. 64B with jogging clothes on, looking suspicious. CJ McGee responded.
1:55 p.m. – Altercation- In the vicinity of S. 4630 Rd- RP stated that his goats got out, and into his neighbor’s yard. The neighbor was upset and threatened to punch the RP. Shane Petree responded.
4:15 p.m. – Suspicious Person- Unknown Church near Vian- RP is pastor at the church, and called to report a homeless woman who has been sleeping outside the church. Kaitlyn Sanders responded.
5:04 p.m. – Vandalism- In the vicinity of S. 4704 Rd- RP reported that the neighbor kids have been throwing rocks very close to his house. CJ McGee responded.

3:30 a.m. – Other- In the vicinity of E. 1050 Rd RP called to report that someone from a hotel in Wisconsin continues to call her and demand money, or else they will arrest her boyfriend. RP said that over the past two days she has spent $4,500 paying the callers. Jeff Neighbors responded.
4:32 a.m. – Other- Unknown Location along I-40- RP called to ask for help changing a flat tire. Tyler Engleman responded.
11:41 a.m. – Information- In the vicinity of E. 1005 Rd- RP called to request information regarding why her boyfriend was arrested. Shane Petree responded.
3:17 p.m. – Altercation- In the vicinity of S. 4630 Rd- RP advised dispatch that his neighbor’s goats have been in his yard every day for a week, and he would like the owner to remove them. Shane Petree responded.

10:21 a.m. – Complaint- In the vicinity of E.1093 Rd-RP stated that his neighbors have trimmed his trees (that hang over onto the neighbor’s side) and he would like to have a deputy talk to the neighbor about it. CJ McGee responded.
4:49 p.m. – Information- In the vicinity of I-40 at MM 316- RP reported that she stopped to use the rest area and found a QR code (that she scanned with her phone) that took her to a pornographic website. CJ McGee responded.
6:07 p.m. – Complaint- In the vicinity of S. 4760 Rd- RP reported that she believes someone has been on her property “messing” with her shed, because she cannot get the door to properly close. Jeff Neighbors responded.
6:08 p.m. – Complaint- In the vicinity of S. 4701 Rd- RP reported that he heard a noise, and believes that someone is on top of his roof with a drill. Jeff Neighbors responded.
7:15 p.m. – Extra Patrol Request- In the vicinity of S. 4600 Rd- RP advised that someone was walking down the street and attempted to talk to his wife. Tyler Engleman responded.
