Former Vian player helps Arkansas Tech win weekend series with Henderson State
CONWAY, Ark. — The Arkansas Tech softball team scored six unanswered runs over their final three at-bats to upend Henderson State in the series-opener on Friday night out at the City of Colleges Park, then the two teams split Saturday’s doubleheader as the Golden Suns took the nightcap 5-2 after losing the opener 9-5.

In Friday’s game, former Vian Lady Wolverine Kacie Gibbins singled with two runs batted in, while going hitless in one at-bat in Game 1 Saturday. She did not play in Saturday’s nightcap. Through 16 games, Gibbins is hitting .214 with two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored. The Golden Suns (11-5) were scheduled to play a Tuesday doubleheader against Pittsburg State at Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville, Ark., before hitting the road for a three-game series at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Ark., with a single game at 3 p.m. Friday and a noon twinbill on Saturday.
