POTEAU — The Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings went 1-3 in a pair of home doubleheaders over a two-day period.

The Lady Vikings split Wednesday afternoon’s home doubleheader with Northern Arkansas, winning the opener 8-7 but losing the nightcap 10-9 in eight innings. On Tuesday, the Lady Vikings were swept by Trojans Unlimited by scores of 4-2 and 4-1.

In Wednesday’s win over Northern Arkansas, a seven run sixth inning for the Lady Vikings (3-13) rallied them for the come-from-behind victory.

For the game, Kattie Bailey was 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored, Charlie Taylor was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a run batted in and Mykala Dodds was 2-for-3 with a run scored for CASC.

Allee Erne got the win in relief, going the final four innings with four strikeouts. Isa Ray went the first three innings as the starter and fanned two batters. Chloe Madbull came in relief for Ray, but failed to get an out.

In the loss to Northern Arkansas, the visitors scored on an RBI double in the eighth inning after tying the game in the seventh inning to force extra innings.

Trailing 5-0 in the first inning, the Lady Vikings stormed back with a four-run first inning, a two-run second inning and a three-run fourth inning for a 9-5 lead after four innings, but a three-run fifth inning for Northern Arkansas cut its deficit to 9-8, setting up the visitors’ late comeback.

In defeat, Tessa York was 4-for-5 with two doubles, three runs scored and an RBI, Bailey was 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored, Taylor was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Dodds was 2-for-3 with an RBI and DeLaney Willoughby was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple and two RBIs for CASC.

Erne suffered the loss in relief, going the final three innings but allowing the game-winning hit. Bailey started and went the first five innings with two strikeouts.

The Lady Vikings will return to action with a home doubleheader against National Park College at 1 p.m. Saturday, then will travel to meet former Vian Lady Wolverine Greenlee Wells and her Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Wilburton.
