Sooners rally past Florida Gulf Coast, but fall to Indiana in NCAA Tournament

Payton Verhulst gave the Sooners a 72-70 lead on a turnaround jumper in the paint with 48 seconds left. After an Eagles’ turnover, Vann hit one of two free throws with 15 seconds left to push the Sooners’ lead to 7370.
Dolly Cairns 3-point shot was blocked by Vann with three seconds left. The Eagles got the rebound with a second left. Uju Ezeudu missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have tied it.
Sahara Williams scored 14 and Verhulst added 11 for the Sooners.
Mackenzie Holmes scored 29 points, including six in a row, to give fourth-seeded Indiana a late lead Monday night as the Hoosiers rallied past fifth-seeded Oklahoma 75-68 in the second round of March Madness.
Sydney Parrish added 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Hoosiers (26-6), who advanced to their second Sweet 16 in three years and now face undefeated South Carolina in Albany, New York.
Vann, the Big 12 Player of theYear led the Sooners (2310) with 20 points and eight rebounds. Aubrey Joens had 16 points for OU, which walked off the floor dejectedly after a fourth consecutive second-round loss in the NCAA Tournament.
