AUGUSTA, Ga. — The Oklahoma State men’s golf team fired the low round of the day, a 10-under 278, on Sunday at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational en route to a thirdplace showing at Forest Hills Golf Club.

The Cowboys finished the event at 13-under 851 and two shots behind Texas at the par-72, 7,086-yard layout. North Carolina finished six shots clear of the field with its 843 total.

Bo Jin narrowly missed giving OSU its second medalist in its last three outings. The senior posted a closing 66 to finish in sole possession of second place at 208 and a shot behind Mercer’s Tobias Jonsson.

After opening with a pair of birdies, Jin added two more birdies at Nos. 5 and 6 before posting his lone bogey of the day at No. 7. He would tack on another birdie at No. 9 to go out in 4-under 32.

Jin would start his inward nine with four consecutive pars before adding his sixth and seventh birdies of the day at Nos. 14 and 15. He would go on to close out his round with three consecutive pars.

The runner-up finish was the fifth of his career and first since finishing second to teammate Jonas Baumgartner last spring at the Mountaineer Invitational.

Fifth year Rayhan Thomas signed for his second consecutive 70 to finish at 214 and tied for 14th place.

Baumgartner closed with a 74 to finish a stroke back at 215 and tied for 17th place.

Freshman Preston Stout’s 71 put him at 218 and tied for 30th place, while classmate Gaven Lane also carded a 71 to finish tied for 49th place at 223.

The Cowboys will finish the regular season at the Arizona State University/Thunderbird Collegiate, which will take place Friday and Saturday at Papago Golf Club in Phoenix.
