During the week of March 25-31, 2024, Sequoyah County law enforcement tended to 22 animal calls, 142 traffic stops, along with numerous medical and domestic calls according to police reports. Following is a list of incidents included from last week’s reports:

03/25/2024

8:15 a.m. – Argument- In the vicinity of E. 1028 Rd.- RP reported that their friend, who lives with him, is starting fights. Daniel Whitus responded.

9:11 a.m. – Speak with Deputy In the vicinity of Hwy. 82- RP advised that a family member is slandering his name. Justin Deuley responded.

1:06 p.m. – Trespassing- Unknown Location- RP called to inquire about someone moving into their rental unit, while they are still living there without an eviction notice. Justin Deuley responded.

1:27 p.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of E. 1013 Rd.- RP called to ask if an officer could escort him to his house to get his belongings because he is allegedly being threatened. Shane Petree responded.

2:04 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle- In the vicinity of Hwy. 64 at Moffett RP reported that there was a red Chevy pickup truck parked under the bridge for a few days. Daniel Whitus responded.

6:58 p.m. – Stolen Vehicle- In the vicinity of E. 1137 Rd.- RP reported that the vehicle he purchased four hours ago was stolen from the grocery store parking lot. Shane Petree responded.

03/26/2024

12:28 p.m. – Threats- In the vicinity of E. 1030 Rd.- RP requested a deputy to respond to his property as the RP had seen a truck speeding down his road and yelling threats at the RP. Shane Petree responded.

1:31 p.m. – Trash Dumping- In the vicinity of Old Hwy. 64- RP inquired about his neighbor’s piling their trash on the county easement. Daniel Whitus responded.

3:15 p.m. – Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of Central High Rd. RP advised that there was a female walking in the middle of the road, possibly jumping in front of traffic. Jeremy Walters, Daniel Whitus and Steven Edwards responded.

3:28 p.m. – Threats- In the vicinity of E. 1020 Rd.- RP reported that his ex, with whom he lives, was threatening his life. Shane Petree responded.

6:39 p.m. – Stolen Vehicle- In the vicinity of Smith Lane- Van Buren Ark. Police called to report they were in pursuit of a stolen motorcycle, and requested information about the suspect, a Sequoyah County resident from Shady Grove. Allen Ramey and Roland PD responded.

8:49 p.m. – Extra Patrol- In the vicinity of Tower Estates- RP requested extra police presence in their neighborhood due to increased numbers of people speeding down the road.

03/27/2024

8:10 a.m. – Suspicious Person Love’s in Vian- An employee called to report that a man was dropped off at the store by another agency, and was talking to himself making people uncomfortable. Joleen McLaughlin responded.

8:14 a.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of S. 4650 Rd.- RP inquired if there was anything he could do to have someone permanently committed to a mental hospital. Brian Stone responded.

8:30 a.m. – Follow-up- Unknown Location in Vian- RP advised he was injured last week by a juvenile family member, and wanted to know what the police planned to do about the situation. Joleen McLaughlin responded.

10:03 a.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of Old Hwy. 64- RP reported hearing an argument at her neighbor’s house. Brian Stone responded.

11:03 a.m. – Property Dispute- In the vicinity of S. 4610 Rd.- RP stated that he was told by the post office that he could legally put a mailbox across the street from his house. However, the neighbor objected and threatened to shoot anyone who steps onto his property. Brian Stone and Cody Parkerson responded.

11:08 a.m. – Speak with a Deputy In the vicinity of N. Ash St.- RP called as he had seen on his Ring doorbell camera that a deputy was at his home. The RP was not aware of a crime and wanted to know why the deputy was on his porch. Cody Parkerson responded.

2:38 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle- In the vicinity of Old Hwy. 64- RP called to inquire why the red truck was still parked under the bridge in Moffett. Brian Stone responded.

2:43 p.m. – Trespassing- In the vicinity of S. 4770 Rd.- RP stated that there was an unknown adult female laying on her trampoline. Brian Stone responded.

4:28 p.m. – Complaint- In the vicinity of Hwy. 64 and Roland Rd. RP asked to speak to a deputy regarding a sign in the middle of the road that said “SEX.” The RP felt it was offensive and should be removed, but Roland PD refused to get involved. Brian Stone responded.

7:26 p.m. – Information- In the vicinity of S. 4705 Rd- RP advised that his wife, from whom he is separated, is on his property taking items from their shared home. Jeff Neighbors responded.

9:05 p.m. – Trash Dumping- Unknown Location- RP reported that someone is dumping trash onto his property. Jeff Neighbors responded.

9:45 p.m. – Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of E. 980 Rd.- RP reported having seen a man walking near the church looking suspicious. Tyler Engleman responded.

10:44 p.m. – Speak with Deputy Unknown Location- RP advised that he was told by Vian PD that his girlfriend is not allowed to be at his home, but he has now decided to allow her there. Vian PD responded.

03/28/2024

7:50 a.m. – Extra Patrol- In the vicinity of Moss St.- RP requested deputies to monitor his home and patrol his street more frequently, as he will be out of town. Joleen McLaughlin responded.

11:47 a.m. – Stolen Property- In the vicinity of Hwy. 64- RP advised that her ex stole her debit card and now has removed all her tax money from the card. Brian Stone and Cody Parkerson responded.

2:19 p.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of E. 983 Rd.- RP reported that he feels like there is an arsonist in the area, and that he might have a suspect. CJ McGee responded.

3:36 p.m. – Property Dispute- In the vicinity of E. 1057 Rd.- RP reported that he has permission from his late father’s attorney to develop his family land, but his brother is disputing it. Cody Parkerson responded.

5:33 p.m. – Harassment- In the vicinity of S. 4677 Rd.- RP stated that there was a man in a white pickup truck blocking his driveway yelling at him. Brian Stone and Cody Parkerson responded.

03/29/2024

11:34 p.m. – Other- In the vicinity of Hwy. 101- RP reported that a family member had discovered a hand grenade in their yard while mowing. Justin Deuley, Daniel Whitus and Trevor Charlton responded.

3:30 p.m. – Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of N. Thornton St.- RP called to report a man sleeping in the property of the church house, and that the woman cleaning the church might not be safe. Caleb Taylor responded.

3:37 p.m. – Trespassing- In the vicinity of E. 1000 Rd.- RP advised that people went on her property and covered up her security camera. Shane Petree responded.

5:27 p.m. – Noise Complaint- In the vicinity of E.1040 Rd.- RP reported her neighbor playing music too loud and requested a deputy to politely ask them to knock it off. Mark Choate responded.

8:00 p.m. – Speak with Deputy- In the vicinity of E. 1095 Rd.- RP stated that he bought a boat motor and trailer from someone on Facebook Marketplace, but has not yet received the title. Allen Ramey responded.

8:13 p.m. – Extra Patrol Request- In the vicinity of S. 4705 Rd.- RP requested extra patrol as a neighbor was just released from jail, came to the RP’s house and spoke to the RP’s daughter. Allen Ramey responded.

9:19 p.m. – Extra Patrol Request- In the vicinity of S. 4466 Rd- RP requested more police presence in his neighborhood as there is a Ford Mustang driving recklessly through the streets. Mark Choate responded.

03/30/2024

9:45 a.m. – Stolen Property- In the vicinity of E. 1020 Rd.- RP stated that there is a new mailbox behind hers, and she felt it might have been stolen and placed with the other mailboxes, as she has never seen it there before. Justin Deuley responded.

11:23 a.m. – Information- In the vicinity of Brushy Cemetery- RP called to report to deputies that he will be near Brushy Cemetery if they are looking for him. Justin Deuley responded.

11:36 a.m. – Suspicious Person- In the vicinity of Hwy. 10 near Gore RP advised there was a man walking from house-to-house seeing if doors were unlocked. Shawn Fullen responded.

12:20 p.m. – Harassment- In the vicinity of Schley St.- RP reported that a man from Finland is stalking his wife and that the man had admitted to him that he was a murderer. Kaitlyn Sanders and Justin Deuley responded.

1:28 p.m. – Information- Near Kerr Lock and Dam – LeFlore County called to give a report of a barge hitting a pillar on the bridge. Dispatch then spoke to a dock operator who confirmed that the boat hit the pillar, and that officials are gathering the other barges and closing the bridge. At 3:16 p.m., the bridge was reopened. Daniel Whitus, Justin Deuley and Shane Petree responded.

4:30 p.m. – Drugs- In the vicinity of Hwy. 64- RP advised that there were syringes at the end of her driveway, and requested a police officer to dispose of them. Shane Petree responded.

8:20 p.m. – Speak with Deputy Unknown Location- RP reported that he went to a friend’s house for a party and the friend was not there. RP stated that other guests said that he was in the hospital, and the RP thinks the other guests may have killed his friend. Mark Choate responded.

03/31/2024

2:11 a.m. – Noise Complaint- In the vicinity of Nicut- RP reported there is a pickup truck in the neighborhood that has no muffler and it was keeping him awake. They demanded to know what the police were going to do about the situation. Allen Ramey responded.

3:42 a.m. – Suspicious Vehicle- In the vicinity of S. 4640 Rd.- RP reported that there were three vehicles parked on the street in front of her property. Allen Ramey and Mark Choate responded.

7:59 a.m. – Stolen Vehicle- In the vicinity of S. 4780 Rd.- RP advised that his mother and brother went to his home and found the house broken into, and vehicle stolen. The RP believes she knew the suspect. Justin Deuley and Daniel Whitus responded.

10:44 a.m. – Other- In the vicinity of E. 1005 Rd.- RP called concerned that a family member has many warrants out for their arrest. RP reported that the family member was in front of the house working on a truck and probably has at least one warrant. Daniel Whitus and Justin Deuley responded.

1:17 p.m. – Disturbance- In the vicinity of S. 4497 Rd.- RP advised that her neighbors cuss and yell at her, and that they might be climbing over her fence when she is not home. Jimmy Carson responded.

3:29 p.m. – Information- In the vicinity of S. 4750 Rd.- RP advised that she and her family would be firing a cannon off their deck near Lake Muldrow, in case anyone called. Daniel Whitus responded.

11:56 p.m. – Suspicious Vehicle In the vicinity of Hwy. 100- RP reported that there were fourwheelers in the area again. Travis Dickerson responded.
