Sallisaw drops 2 games at Heavener

The Sallisaw Lady Diamonds softball team lost their two road games Monday to the Heavener Lady Wolves by scores of 8-3 and 11-1.

The Sallisaw Lady Diamonds softball team lost their two road games Monday to the Heavener Lady Wolves by scores of 8-3 and 11-1.

In the opener, the Lady Diamonds (1-16) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening inning on a two-run home run by Delaney Compton, her second homer of the season.

However, it was all Lady Wolves from there as they scored four runs in each of the first two innings for an 8-2 lead.

In defeat, Madison Green was 3-for-3 with a run scored, Compton was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and Jaycie Cox was 2-for-2 with a double for Sallisaw. Emma Lessley (1-16) took the loss.

In the nightcap, a nine-run first inning put away the game for Heavener as the lone run for Sallisaw came on Channing Wilson’s third-inning sacrifice fly, scoring Abby Kate Qualls.

In defeat, Lessley was 2-for-2, while Compton, Qualls, Sydney Weedon and Preslee Jackson each singled for the Lady Diamonds. Lessley took the loss.

WEBBERS FALLS 3, GANS 1

Monday in Gans, the Lady Warriors (5-10) broke a scoreless tie with single runs in the second, third and fourth innings for a 3-0 lead, as the lone run for the Lady Grizzlies (0-9) scored in the sixth inning.

For the game, Teralynn Colston, Maddie Raskey, Bentley Ward and Savannah Frazier each singled for Webbers Falls. Colston got the win.

In defeat, Makenzy Hunter doubled, while Gabbie Price and Stevie Pratt each singled for Gans. Raina Gaona took the loss.

The Lady Grizzlies had their Thursday road game rained out at McCurtain and Friday’s home game with Cave Springs canceled.

VIAN 8, ROLAND 0

VIAN 5, MULDROW 3

MULDROW 4, ROLAND 1

Friday in Roland, the Lady Wolverines (11-6) won both games of their road three-way.

In Vian’s win over Roland, Rayleigh Terrill (11-6) tossed a three-hitter as all the run support she needed was supplied with as four-run first inning. A four-run fourth inning put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Kala Gibbins was 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored, Hanna Mattingly was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Akeelah Truett was 2-for-3 with a homer and five RBIs and Rayleigh Terrill was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Vian.

In defeat, a double by Addyson Clark and singles by Kynlei Earnhart and Kiah Pettit were all the Lady Rangers (4-12) could muster.

In Vian’s victory over Muldrow, a four-run fourth inning put the Lady Wolverines ahead for good at 4-1.

For the game, Eastern Oklahoma State College signee Maisie Wells was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, while Kaidence Roark was 2-for-3 for Vian. Terrill got the win.

In defeat, In defeat, Danica Tune was 2-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run and two RBIs, Aubrey Luttrell and Eve Keenan were each 2-for-3 and Ashley Price tripled with an RBI and a run scored for the Lady Bulldogs (10-9). Cailey Grinstead (10-9) took the loss.

In Muldrow’s win over Roland, the Lady Bulldogs broke a 1-all tie with a three-run sixth inning.

For the game, Tune was 3-for-4 with a triple and a run scored, Grinstead was 3-for-3, Price was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored and Kaydence Young doubled with two RBIs and a run scored for Muldrow. Grinstead got the win.

In defeat, In defeat, Jaydance Bean was 2-for-3 for Roland. Pettit took the loss.

VIAN 9, CENTRAL 1

Thursday in Vian, after the Lady Tigers took a 1-0 lead after an inning, the Lady Wolverines put away the game with a nine-run fourth inning to put the game into run-rule status.

For the game, Kala Gibbins was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, Maisie Wells was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, Akeelah Truett was 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs, Kaidence Roark was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored and Rayleigh Terrill doubled with an RBI and a run scored for Vian. Terrill got the win.

MULDROW 6, SPIRO 1

Monday in Muldrow in a battle of Lady Bulldogs, Muldrow (10-9) scored twice in the first and third innings for a 4-0 lead, then scored single runs in each of the final two innings.

For the game, Ashley Price was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, Aubrey Luttrell was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run batted in, Danica Tune tripled with an RBI and a run scored and Kaydence Young homered with two RBIs and two runs scored for Muldrow. Cailey Grinstead (10-9) got the win.

STILWELL 12, VIAN 2

Monday in Stilwell, the Lady Indians, who trailed 1-0 in the first inning, put away the game with a four-run first inning and a five-run second inning for a 9-1 lead. A three-run fourth inning put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Hanna Mattingly doubled with a run batted in, while LaKaila Drew homered and scored twice for the Lady Wolverines. Rayleigh Terrill took the loss.

OKAY 13, GORE 12, 8 INN.

Monday in Okay, the Lady Mustangs walked off the game in the bottom of the eighth inning after the Lady Pirates (9-10) tied the game at 12-all with a tworun seventh inning.

In defeat, Emily Daily was 4-for-5 with a triple and three runs scored, Kendra Huckbay was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, four runs batted in and three runs scored, Peyton Curran was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored, Cheyenne Davidson was 2-for-4 with an RBI, River Shoemake was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and Paige Curran doubled with two runs scored and an RBI.

CROWDER 14, GORE 5

Thursday in Crowder, the Demonettes broke a scoreless tie with a six-run third inning. After the Lady Pirates cut their deficit to 6-5 in the fourth inning, the Demonettes scored five runs in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Kendra Huckbay was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs batted in and a run scored, Emily Daily was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and River Shoemake was 2-for-2 for Gore, whose Thursday road game at Okmulgee was rained out.

WARNER 12, WEBBERS FALLS 0

Thursday at Warner, the Lady Warriors were four-hit by Warner pitcher Emercyn Baldridge as Bentley Ward, Bailey Ward, Laina Colston and Rhliee Jones each singled. Colston took the loss.
