Fishing Report for April 24, 2024

EUFAULA: April 19. Elevation is six inches above normal and stable. The water temperature is 62 degrees and stained. Striped bass, striped bass hybrids and white bass good on crankbaits, jigs, lipless baits, plastic baits and sassy shad below the dam, discharge and tailwater. Blue, channel and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, live bait, live shad and sunfish around channels, river channel and river mouth. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs and minnows around brush structure, creek channels, docks and rocks. Report submitted by Jake Rowland, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

GRAND: April 21. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 60 degrees and stained. White bass good on Alabama rigs, jerk baits, jigs and minnows below the dam, creek channels, dam, discharge and river mouth. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs, minnows, spoons and tube jigs around brush structure, coves, docks and shorelines. Blue and channel catfish fair on cut bait, live shad and shad below the dam, flats, main lake and river channel. Report submitted by C. Newkirk, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

GREENLEAF: April 21. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 60 degrees and clear. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits and spinnerbaits around docks, points and weed beds. Crappie fair on hair jigs, jigs and minnows around brush structure, docks, rocks, shallows and shorelines. Channel catfish good on chicken liver and worms around docks, flats and points. Report submitted by Dylan Langford, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

LOWER ILLINOIS RIVER: April 19. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 48 degrees and clear. Rainbow trout good on caddis flies, inline spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs, PowerBait and worms below the dam and shallows. Comments: Current generation 340 cubic per second (CPS). Report submitted by Jerry Henry, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

ROBERT S. KERR: April 19. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 70 degrees and murky. Largemouth and spotted bass good on minnows, plastic baits, small lures, spoons and topwater lures around brush structure, channels, coves, points, shorelines, standing timber and weed beds. White bass and crappie good on hair jigs, jigs and minnows below the dam, brush structure, river channel and river mouth. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on cut bait, hot dogs, minnows, shad, spoons, sunfish and worms below the dam, main lake, river channel, river mouth and tailwater. TENKILLER: April 21. Elevation is a foot above normal and stable. The water temperature is 62 degrees and clear. Crappie fair on hair jigs and minnows around brush structure and docks. White bass fair on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, in-line spinnerbaits, small lures and tube jigs around coves, creek channels and river mouth. Blue and channel catfish fair on cut bait, shad and stinkbait around channels, main lake and river channel. Comments: White bass is still hit-and-miss around Horseshoe Bend and Etta Bend. Better success can be found in coves and creek channels down the lake and around Caney and Dry Creek. Crappie anglers are also reporting that they are hit-and-miss around the docks and brush. They should be getting closer to moving closer to the banks soon. With the weather forecast to warm up this week, fishing should get better. WEBBERS FALLS: April 21. Elevation is normal and stable. The water temperature is 69 degrees and stained. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs, minnows and slabs around brush structure, riprap, shallows and shorelines. Striped and white bass good on hair jigs, plastic baits and sassy shad around river channel, river mouth and tailwater. Blue catfish good on cut bait and shad around flats and points. Report submitted by Dylan Langford, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.
