RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Former Vian Lady Wolverine softball player Kacie Gibbins and the Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns had the regular season end on a down note as the Golden Suns were swept at home by Oklahoma Baptist University as the Bison took Game 1 by a score of 4-3 on Friday and swept Saturday’s doubleheader by scores of 4-1 and 2-1.

While not playing on Friday or in Saturday’s nightcap, Gibbins went hitless in one pinch-hitting appearance in Saturday’s opener. Through 45 games, Gibbins is hitting .208 with four doubles, five runs batted in and four runs scored. The Golden Suns (25 20 overall, 17-16 in Great American Conference play) will begin postseason play with a 10:30 a.m. Thursday opening-round game against Henderson State in the 2024 GAC Tournament in Bentonville, Ark.
