Motorcyclist perishes in I-40 collision

A Friday night collision on I-40, about two miles west of Vian, has claimed the life of a Sallisaw man, according to an accident report issued by Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Trooper Jordan Galvan #311 of the Sequoyah County Detachment of Troop C reported Jonathan Walters, 41, was operating a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on I-40 when he lost control on a curve. Galvan said Walters then left the roadway to the left and struck a cable barrier.
