Vian FFA wins state FFA homesite judging career development event
Members of the Vian FFA Chapter won first place in the state FFA homesite judging career development event during the 2024 Oklahoma FFA Interscholastics at Oklahoma State University on April 27.
Members of the Vian FFA Chapter won first place in the state FFA homesite judging career development event during the 2024 Oklahoma FFA Interscholastics at Oklahoma State University on April 27.
Team members include Gracie Risley, Ally Trotter, Chasity Smith and Kloey Kisselburg. In individual rankings, Risley, Trotter and Smith earned second-, fourth- and sixth-place honors. The Vian Agricultural education instructor and FFA advisors are Trent and Charlotte Trotter.
The homesite judging CDE consists of four sites for which the soil characteristics are judged and correct treatment or limitations identified.
The OSU Ferguson College of Agriculture and the OSU Department of Plant and Soil Sciences hosted the contest. The national qualifying sponsor for the contest is the Oklahoma FFA Alumni Association.
FFA is an integral part of the Agricultural Education division in the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education system.

Ally Trotter, Smith, Risley and Kisselburg accepted their honor from Michelle Clogston, corporate communications officer for Oklahoma AgCredit, and Cynda Clary, associate dean of academic programs for the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture, during the 98th Oklahoma FFA Convention.
The team’s agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor is Trent Trotter.
