Cowgirls finish tied for 24th at NCAA Championships

The Cowgirls closed its fourth straight appearance at nationals firing a 312 and concluded their three rounds of action with a 912. The top 15 teams, along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team, moved to an additional day of stroke play on Monday, with Florida State securing the final team spot at 25-over 889 after three rounds.
Windier conditions and pin positions proved to be pivotal for the 30-team field on Sunday, with only one team, Stanford, going under par on the day. Scoring averages climbed throughout three rounds, with Sunday’s average standing at 76.44. By comparison, Friday’s scoring average was 74.10 and Saturday’s scoring average was 75.17.
Ellie Bushnell matched her best round of the tournament, carding a 75 in round-three action. Bushnell posted a birdie on her second hole of the day, hole No. 11, to cap her impressive freshman campaign.
Maddison Hinson-Tolchard put a close to her storied collegiate career on Sunday, signing a 76. Hinson-Tolchard finishes her playing career in Stillwater as one of the program’s most decorated golfers, earning Big 12 Player of Year Awards in 2022 and 2023, a First Team WGCA All-American nod in 2023 and the most career par-or-better rounds in program history with 72, among other accolades. She will claim immediate Epson Tour status upon turning professional.
Angelica Pfefferkorn also played her final round with OSU on Sunday with an 82. Pfefferkorn, who was awarded the NCAA Elite 90 Award earlier the week, became the first player in program history to start in more tournaments as a senior than her first three years combined during this year’s postseason.
Thitaporn Saithip finished the third round signing an 80, while Marta Silchenko posted an 81.
The Cowgirls enter the off-season as one of nine programs in the nation to reach the NCAA Championships in each of the past four seasons.
