FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Arkansas women’s basketball team is scheduled to play Boston College in the second ACC/SEC Challenge, as announced June 12. Arkansas and Boston College will play Dec. 5 at Bud Walton Arena. Network designation will be announced at a later date.

“One of the great things about the SEC/ACC Challenge is bringing teams together that have never played or rarely played,” Arkansas women’s coach Mike Neighbors said. “It’s been 23 years since we’ve played Boston College. It will certainly be a contrast, as we have a lot of new faces while they return five starters. We were at the same holiday tournament with them last year, so we saw how they like to play. This one will be fun for our players and our fans. It will be one of several chances in the preseason to evaluate ourselves on our SEC readiness.”

Last season was a standalone year for the Challenge home/away designations. Institutions repeat home and away designations in 2023 and 2024. The home/away expectation is for each institution to have two home and two away games over a four-year period in the Challenge.

Boston College is coming off a 14-19 season and 5-13 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Eagles were led by Teya Sideberry, who averaged 13.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game as a junior and ACC Newcomer of the Year recipient. Kaylah Ivey logged 191 assists, which led the league.

The Hogs and Eagles have faced off three times in the series history, holding a 3-0 edge. Arkansas and Boston College’s last meeting was in 2001, resulting in a 76-60 win for the Hogs in Boston. This will be the third time in the series history the Eagles will make the trip to Fayetteville.

In the inaugural season of the SEC/ ACC Challenge, Arkansas defeated No. 15 Florida State 71-58 in Tallahassee, Fla. The Hogs are coming off an 1815 season, which ended in its sixth consecutive postseason berth in the Mike Neighbors’ era, tying a school record. Arkansas played in the NCAA WBIT against Tulsa. Arkansas’ 2024-25 squad features seven returners and six newcomers.
