The stylists and new barber at Hogan’s Salon in Sallisaw recently gave back to the community, conducting free haircuts for students on Monday at the Gans School gymnasium for the upcoming back-toschool season.
All of the crew was there, which consisted of Brayden Forslund, Camryn Brewer, Brittany Hogan (salon owner), Deana Philpot and Mary Cole. With all of their hard work, Hogan said they did about 130 haircuts between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the gym lobby.
Hogan said that she is very involved with Gans Public Schools.
“It feels like home,” she said. “I decided to do this because I know a lot of the kids live within walking distance of the school, and this would give them a chance to have easy access to a haircut.”
The students agreed that this was an awesome opportunity for both them and the community.
Hogan’s Salon is located at 604 E. Delaware and can be reached at 918-235-6904.
