Jason Hogner of Sallisaw was recently named the Living Our Values Champion for Aviagen North America (ANA).

ANA selects one winner of this award each quarter from thousands of Aviagen employees in dozens of facilities across North America. Hogner was selected from 11 finalists.

ANA’s president Marc de Beer arranged a surprise presentation for Hogner in Longview, Texas. De Beer presented the award in person.

Hogner serves as hatchery supervisor at Aviagen’s Oklahoma Hatchery in Sallisaw. The local facility is a centerpiece of Sallisaw’s Roy Frye Jr. Industrial Park near U.S. Hwy. 59 and I-40.

Hogner was nominated and endorsed for the award by the general manager of the Oklahoma hatchery, Rick Peoples of Vian. Peoples especially praised Hogner for his dedication and his focus on process improvements.

“Jason has been instrumental in making the Oklahoma hatchery the outstanding facility it is today,” Peoples said. Peoples, himself, was a winner of the same award in 2023.

Hogner has worked for the company for over 25 years, starting at the bottom and working his way up. In recent years, Hogner has traveled to Aviagen facilities across the country to share his expertise.

De Beer’s companywide announcement about Hogner listed the Aviagen values that Hogner exemplifies, including his positive attitude, continuous improvement, team and customer focus, integrity, respect, and caring.

His announcement said, “Our values are part of our daily operations and our commitment to the birds in our care, our company, our customers, our communities, and our industry.”

Hogner is a Stilwell native and a Sallisaw resident. He is a classic car afficionado and is involved in local car shows and events.

Aviagen is a global leader in the poultry industry, supplying broiler breeder stock chicks to customers in over 100 countries.
