Lady Pirates rally past Gans

The Gore Lady Pirates were able to score late to rally past the Gans Lady Grizzlies for a 9-8 victory Monday afternoon in Gore.

The Gore Lady Pirates were able to score late to rally past the Gans Lady Grizzlies for a 9-8 victory Monday afternoon in Gore.

The Lady Pirates (4-1), who trailed 8-7 after a two-run fifth inning by the Lady Grizzlies (4-6), snatched away the win as Hallie Brewer hit a game-tying RBI double and Ricki Huckbay got the gamewinning RBI as she was hit by a pitch with two outs to score Brewer from third base.

For the game, Brewer was 2-for-3 with an RBI double and two runs scored, while Emily Daily doubled for Gore.

Cheyenne Davidson (4-1) got the win, recording 12 strikeouts in the completegame victory.

In defeat, Gabbie Price was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and a run batted in, Maddie Freeman was 2-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored and Abigail Leach tripled with two RBIs and a run scored for Gans.

Leach (2-5) suffered the loss, despite fanning seven batters in six innings.

VIAN 11, HENRYETTA 7

Monday at Vian’s Armstrong Park, the Lady Wolverines (4-5 overall, 3-3 in District 3A-8 play) rallied from a 2-1 second-inning deficit with a four-run second inning, a three-run third inning, a single run in the fourth inning and a two-run fifth inning to take an 11-2 lead after five innings.

The Lady Black Knights (5-6, 2-2) tried to mount a late comeback, scoring five runs in the seventh inning but came up short.

For the game, Kala Gibbins was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, Hanna Mattingly was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a run batted in, Rayleigh Terrill was 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, Cassidee Postoak was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Eden Girty doubled and scored twice and Rebel Simon tripled with an RBI and a run scored for Vian.

Gibbins (4-5) got the win, striking out four batters in her complete-game victory.

ROLAND 11, SPIRO 8

Monday afternoon at Spiro, the Lady Rangers (4-5 overall, 2-2 in District 3A-8 play) rallied from being down 8-6 after four innings as they scored a single run in the sixth inning and four runs in the seventh inning to get the come-frombehind victory.

For the game, Ariana Acevedo was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and a run batted in, Addyson Clark doubled with three RBIs and two runs scored, Adriana Moya doubled and scored twice, Jordyn Bean doubled with an RBI and a run scored and Lilly Cole doubled with three RBIs and a run scored for Roland.

McKinna Cooper (3-5) got the win, getting five strikeouts in seven innings.

CENTRAL 8, ROLAND 2

Thursday in Roland, the Lady Tigers broke a 2-all tie after an inning with a two-run third inning, a single run in the fifth inning and a three-run sixth inning.

For the game, Ayrland Jiles was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two runs batted in and a run scored for Central.

Brenliegh Allen got her first win of the season, throwing a five-hitter.

In defeat, Addyson Clark tripled with an RBI and a run scored for the Lady Rangers.

McKinna Cooper took the loss, despite striking out five batters in seven innings.

GORE 15, WEBBERS FALLS 3

Thursday in Webbers Falls, the Lady Pirates put away the game early as after they took a 1-0 lead in the opening inning, Gore scored eight runs in the second inning to up the advantage to 9-0.

For the game, Ricki Huckbay doubled with three runs batted in and two runs scored, Peyton Curran doubled with two RBIs and a run scored and River Shoemake hit an inside-the-park grandslam home run for Gore.

Cheyenne Davidson got the win, fanning five batters in six innings.

In defeat, Bridgette Baer was 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI, while Ricki Frazier doubled and scored once for the Lady Warriors.

Rhilee Jones (1-5) suffered the loss.

GANS 12, CAMERON-ARKOMA 2

Friday in Gans, Maddie Freeman (2-1) got the victory for the Lady Grizzlies, striking out a whopping 12 batters and throwing a no-hitter.

The Lady Grizzlies rallied from a 2-0 deficit with a five-run second inning, a run in the third inning and a six-run fourth inning to take a 12-2 lead to put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Abigail Leach was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, Addy Bibbs doubled with a run batted in and a run scored, Brighton Dorsey doubled with three RBIs and Gabbie Price tripled, scored twice and had an RBI for Gans.

CENTRAL 4, KEOTA 2

Friday at Central High School, the Lady Tigers broke a 2-all tie with a tworun fifth inning on back-to-back twoout, RBI doubles by Brenliegh Allen and Allie Harris.

For the game, Allen hit an RBI double and scored once, Harris hit an RBI double and Ayrland Jiles doubled and scored twice for Central.

Allen (2-5) got the win, striking out four batters in seven innings.

POCOLA 14, CENTRAL 0

Monday at Central High School, Pocola’s Allyssa Parker and Kyleigth Combs combined to throw a no-hitter. Parker went the first two innings with five strikeouts, while Combs pitched the third and final inning with two Ks.

The Lady Indians (10-0 overall, 5-0 in District 2A-11 play) broke a scoreless tie with an eight-run second inning.

Ayrland Jiles (1-2) took the loss for the Lady Tigers (3-7, 0-2), despite fanning three batters in three innings.

HULBERT 14, WEBBERS FALLS 2

Monday at Eual Carter Sports Complex in Webbers Falls, after the Lady Warriors (1-6) cut their deficit to 4-2 at the end of the opening inning thanks to Gracie Stargell’s two-run inside-the-park home run, the Lady Riders put away the game with a 10-run second inning to put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Bridgette Baer was 2-for-2 with two runs batted in and a run scored, while Sturgell hit a two-run, inside-thepark homer for Webbers Falls.

Rhilee Jones took the loss, despite fanning four batters in three innings.

KEOTA 8, GANS 4

Thursday in Gans, the Lady Lions broke a 1-all tie with a six-run second inning for a 7-1 lead.

In defeat, Abigail Leach was 4-for-4 with a run batted in and a run scored, while Gabbie Price was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for the Lady Grizzlies.

Leach suffered the loss, although she struck out three batters in seven innings.

EUFAULA 14, VIAN 2

Thursday in Eufaula, the Lady Ironheads completed the district series sweep of the Lady Wolverines.

The Lady Ironheads put away the game early with a six-run first inning. The closest the Lady Wolverines got was 9-2 in the third inning as a four-run sixth inning for Eufaula put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Halli Russell, Rayleigh Terrill, Rebel Simon and Scarlett Fields all signed for Vian.

Kala Gibbins suffered the loss, despite fanning three batters in 5.2 innings.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Friday’s Webbers Falls home game with McCurtain was canceled due to the Lady Bulldogs not having enough players. Webbers Falls coach Kera Carter said the game has not been rescheduled as of press time.
