Oklahoma Connections Academy students return for school year

Oklahoma Connections Academy, a tuition free-online public school serving more than 1,100 students across the state began its 2024-25 school year with new and returning students logging on for their first day in the virtual classroom. This year marks the launch of the new Pre-Kindergarten program, providing families with the opportunity to start early education for their young children.

Oklahoma Connections Academy, a tuition free-online public school serving more than 1,100 students across the state, began its 2024-25 school year with new and returning students logging on for their first day in the virtual classroom. This year marks the launch of the new Pre-Kindergarten program, providing families with the opportunity to start early education for their young children.

Oklahoma Connections Academy provides a self-paced and flexible curriculum with advanced learning opportunities designed to help students by engaging their minds, building their character, and preparing them for a changing world. With the help of Oklahoma Connection Academy’s specially trained teachers, students have the support they need to thrive academically and personally with their extracurricular pursuits.

Students at Oklahoma Connections Academy have access to college and career courses designed to help them pursue their passions and prepare for their future. With Career Technical Education (CTE) courses available, students are encouraged to build their skill sets and take advantage of the unique opportunities provided.

“The back-to-school season always brings a unique and vibrant energy, and we are thrilled to kick off another year filled with promise and potential,’ said Melissa Gregory, school leader at Oklahoma Connections Academy. ‘We are excited to welcome both our new and returning students and look forward to making the 2024-2025 school year one of remarkable achievement and success. Our commitment to providing an environment of enrichment, support, and growth remains stronger than ever as we embark on this new school year together.’

Students are returning to school shortly after the release of the 2024 Parent Satisfaction Survey, an annual third-party survey that provides families with the opportunity to review their experience with Oklahoma Connections Academy. According to the survey results:

• 97% of parents agree their child is satisfied learning at Oklahoma Connections Academy • 97% of parents agree the Oklahoma Connections Academy program gives them greater opportunity to be more involved with their child’s education

• 95% of parents agree Oklahoma Connections Academy is preparing their child for college or career success

• 94% of parents agree their child’s teachers at Oklahoma Connections Academy are supportive.

• 94% of parents would recommend Oklahoma Connections Academy Oklahoma Connections Academy offers students advanced courses, extracurricular opportunities, and flexible scheduling to encourage selfdirected learning. The school emphasizes a collaborative environment for both students and educators, providing a welcoming and distraction-free space for learning.

Last school year, the school was awarded a landmark grant to build a mobile science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) laboratory to bring hands-on learning to students across the state. The mobile STEM lab will increase access to STEM education, enhance educational opportunities at in-person events and field trips, and bolster learning excitement amongst students and families.

Enrollment is still open for the 2024-25 school year. Families interested in learning more about the Oklahoma Connections Academy’s flexible virtual learning approach are encouraged to attend an online information session to learn more, ask questions and discover if virtual school is the right fit for their student.
