JUST THINKIN'

Hate is an opinion

By Just Thinkin'

We awakened to the news that 6 Israeli hostages had been found dead. Each had a single gunshot wound to the head. These were people abducted from a music festival and Israeli communities near the Gaza border in October of 2023.

We awakened to the news that 6 Israeli hostages had been found dead. Each had a single gunshot wound to the head. These were people abducted from a music festival and Israeli communities near the Gaza border in October of 2023.

How much hate does it take to raid a music festival and nearby small communities. To literally slaughter small children and their mothers, kill and Hal McBride mutilate folks of all genders and ages, special to your In order to dislike you, I have to times have a belief about you, an opinion. Facts and truth become immaterial.

Over the years, I have found it is our opinions that allow us to keep beliefs that make us comfortable. We have an aversion to being uncomfortable. I’m suggesting that we hate in order to be comfortable.

I once enjoyed talking about the myth of normalcy. Normal just doesn’t exist. BUT, I declare myself to be normal anyway. The more you are like me, the more normal I judge you. The less like me you are the more abnormal you are. I dislike abnormal people. This is my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

You to make me change, you challenge the righteousness of my opinions and I could learn to dislike you real quick. Hate you enough to harm you? I don’t know.

The Middle East is a part of the world that has had a bucket load of practice at hating and teaching their children to hate.

How long? At least since 1948, when the UN took British Palestine, land Britian was given after World War I and created Isreal. In making a homeland for the Jewish population displaced during World War II, we removed a large number of Palestinians who were living in British Palestine.

You know rather like if someone came in and moved all the indigenous peoples living in say the Georgia area and relocated them to the southern plains. Just think about it.

Hate makes us do hateful things. It is football season again. I have a freshman great-grandson playing. That means I get to go to the Friday night games and to the Monday JV games. Life is good.

Friday night, Mike let Cheryl and me out at the pass gate. The Security Guard gave me a kiss on my cheek and told me to get on in. I guided my 4-wheel walker down to the fence at about the 20-yard line and sat down. It was like the Fairgrounds in Stigler in 1950. There was a fence and friends and football.

We got a comeback 29-28 win. It was a dandy Friday night.

I am free of all prejudices. I hate everyone equally. – W.C. Fields
