Central Lady Tigers tame Vian Lady Wolverines

For the second time in less than a week, the Central Lady Tigers got the best of the Vian Lady Wolverines, this time in a big way.

For the second time in less than a week, the Central Lady Tigers got the best of the Vian Lady Wolverines, this time in a big way.

After Central beat Vian 8-7 on Saturday morning in the I-40 Softball Classic, the Lady Tigers tamed the Lady Wolverines by the score of 14-2 Monday afternoon at Armstrong Park in Vian.

The Lady Tigers (11-14) wasted little time in getting going, scoring twice in the first inning, three runs in the second inning and two more runs in the third inning for a 7-0 lead. After the Lady Wolverines (10-14) cut their deficit to 7-2 after three innings, a seven-run fourth inning for Central put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Ayrland Jiles was 3-for-3 with a two-run home run, three runs batted in and two runs scored, Alyvia Warner was 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and a run scored, Allie Harris was 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Riley Rowland was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, Camryn Gilliam was 2-for-3 with two runs scored, Brianna Taylor was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs and Charlie Petree doubled with an RBI and a run scored for Central.

Brenliegh Allen (8-9) got the win, throwing a four-hitter with two strikeouts.

In defeat, Hanna Mattingly tripled with an RBI, Rebel Simon tripled and scored once, Rayleigh Terrill singled and scored and Lakoeta Cheater singled for Vian.

Kala Gibbins (10-14) suffered the loss, despite getting six Ks in four innings.

GORE 11, WEBBERS FALLS 3

Monday at Gore, the Lady Pirates (128) jumped out to an early lead, thanks to a pair of four-run rallies in the first and second innings, as Gore led 8-0 after two innings.

The Lady Warriors (4-14) cut the deficit to 10-3 in the fifth inning, but the game got to run-rule status in the bottom of the frame when the Lady Pirates scored once to get an eight-run victory.

For the game, Kennedy Williams was 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and three RBIs, Hallie Brewer was 2-for-2 with a double, three runs scored and a run batted in, Cheyenne Davidson was 2-for-2 with a double, Peyton Curran doubled with three RBIs and Emily Daily tripled and scored twice for Gore.

Davidson (12-8) got the win, getting three strikeouts in five innings.

In defeat, Karla Bonilla was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, while Bailey Ward doubled with an RBI for Webbers Falls.

Rhilee Jones (4-13) took the loss, going the first four innings with three Ks. Shkyra Scruggs got the final two outs of the game.

ROLAND 2, STILWELL 1

Monday at Roland, an error allowed Paisley Davis to score the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh for a walk-off victory for the Lady Rangers (11-10).

For the game, Addyson Clark was 2-for-3, while Jaydance Bean was 2-for-3 with a run scored for Roland. McKinna Cooper (9-10) got the win.

WEBBERS FALLS 14, CAVE SPRINGS 4

Thursday at Eual Carter Sports Complex in Webbers Falls, Webbers Falls pitcher Rhilee Jones threw a fourinning four-hitter with six strikeouts.

The Lady Warriors broke scoreless tie with a five-run second inning for a 5-0 lead. A nine-run third inning put the game into run-rule status.

Bentley Ward was 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored, Bailey Ward was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and a run batted in, Lextyn Chappell was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored, Karla Bonilla was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Ricki Frazier was 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored, Katie Frazier was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI and Jones doubled with two RBIs and two runs scored for Webbers Falls.

POTEAU 5, MULDROW 1

Monday at Muldrow, the Lady Pirates (15-9 overall, 6-3 in District 4A-6 play) broke a 1-all tie with a two-run third inning and a two-run seventh inning.

The lone run for the Lady Bulldogs (8-14, 1-6) scored on Amaya Duran’s RBI groundout in the first inning to knot the game at 1-all.

In defeat, Danica Tune doubled, while Amarie Duran singled for the only hits off Poteau starter Emma Hackler, who struck out nine batters in seven innings.

Jaydin Dean (6-7) suffered the loss.

KEOTA 12, GANS 2

Thursday in Keota, Keota pitcher Jaycee Byrd threw a four-inning onehitter with seven strikeouts.

The Lady Lions broke a 1-all tie with a five-run second inning and a four run third inning for a 10-1 lead after three innings.

Madi Pilkington’s single was the only Gans hit off Byrd.

Maddie Freeman (4-6) suffered the loss, despite fanning three batters in 3.2 innings.

The Lady Grizzlies did not play in Monday’s road three-way at Spiro with Heavener.
