CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Central graduate giving back to her alma mater, remembering her late mother

By DAVID SEELEY SPORTS EDITOR

Mandy McGlothlin Pursell, a 1994 Central graduate, is giving back to the school that gave so much to her.

In memory of her loving mother, Helen McGlothlin, she has made a generous donation to the basketball teams and the cheerleading squad.

A shoot-away and practice uniforms have been purchased for the basketball teams.

Uniforms and tumbling mats are being purchased for the cheerleaders.

The entire student body will benefit from new spot-lighting and a sound system that will be installed in the gymnasium.

In addition to basketball, the school’s Christmas program, kindergarten graduation and band concerts take place in the gym, which will begin to become busy with the upcoming 202425 basketball seasons. High school basketball teams will be able to begin organized practices for the new season beginning Tuesday.

Purcell has plans to provide much more for Central School in the future.
