Muldrow knocks off Checotah in regular-season finale

The Muldrow Lady Bulldogs are entering today’s Class 4A Regional Tournament in Miami, Okla., on a high note as they won their second straight District 4A-6 game with a comefrom- behind 6-2 win over the Checotah Lady Wildcats on Thursday night at home.

The Lady Bulldogs (10-17 overall, 3-9 in district play) used a six-run, sixth-inning rally to get the come-from-behind win.

For the game, Danica Tune doubled and scored once, Amarie Duran singled with two runs batted in and Jaydin Dean and Kaydence Young each singled for Muldrow.

Young (3-9) got the win, striking out seven batters in seven innings.

STILWELL 12, ROLAND 4

Monday afternoon at Stilwell, the Lady Indians broke a 3-all tie with a five-run second inning for an 8-3 lead after two innings. The Lady Rangers (1412) cut their deficit to 8-4 with a run in the fifth inning but got no closer as Stilwell’s four-run fifth inning put the game into run-rule status.

In defeat, Adriana Moya was 3-for-4 with a run scored for Roland.

McKinna Cooper (12-12) suffered the loss, despite striking out four batters in 4.2 innings.

WISTER 13, CENTRAL 0

Thursday at the Class 2A Regional Tournament in Wister, the Lady Tigers ended the season at 14-16.

The Lady Tigers amassed only two hits — a single apiece by Brenliegh Allen and Camryn Gilliam.

Allen (12-12) took the loss, going the first 3.2 innings with two strikeouts. Ayrland Jiles, who played her final game as a Lady Tiger fast-pitch softball player, went the final 1.1 innings with two Ks.

Thursday at the Class A District Tournament at Red Oak, the two losses ended the season for the Lady Grizzlies at 8-14.

In the first loss to Keota, after the Lady Grizzlies scored a run in the first inning for a 1-0 lead, the Lady Lions erupted for 10 runs in the first inning and a single run in the second inning for an 11-1 lead after two innings. A three-run third inning put the game into runrule status.

In defeat, Gabbie Price tripled and scored both Gans runs, while Maddie Freeman singled for the only hits for the Lady Grizzlies as Keota pitcher Jaycee Byrd threw a two-hitter with six strikeouts in three innings. Abigail Leach (3-7) took the loss.

In the season-ending loss to Keota, Byrd threw a five-inning three-hitter with five Ks.

After the Lady Grizzlies took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Lady Lions roared back with a pair of three-run innings in the first two innings for a 6-1 lead after two innings.

After Gans cut its deficit to 6-2 after three innings, the Lady Lions put the game into run-rule status with a pair of two-run innings in the fourth and fifth innings.

In defeat, Price was 3-for-3 with two triples and two runs scored for Gans. Leach took the loss.

CROWDER 15, WEBBERS FALLS 2

Thursday at the Class A District Tournament at Allen, the two losses ended the season for the Lady Warriors at 6-17.

In the district-tournament loss to Crowder, the Demonettes jumped out to a 7-0 lead after an inning. After the Lady Warriors cut the deficit to 7-1 after two innings, the Demonettes put away the game with a seven-run third inning and a single run in the fourth inning to put the game into run-rule status.

The Lady Warriors got singles from Bailey Ward, Gracie Sturgell, Ricki Frazier and Kendra Kimble.

Rhilee Jones (6-16) took the loss, despite fanning four batters in four innings.

In the season-ending loss to district-host Allen, Allen pitcher Khloe Goodson threw a one-hitter, with that hit being a single by Ward. Jones took the loss.
